Some suspension mods...pics to share (01/26)

after almost 30,000 miles plus on my Eibach pro-kit, I've decided to upgrade almost every part of my suspension.

decided I'd include a photo diary of the next week or so as I do the install.

the upgrades include:

HKS Coilovers
SPL Upper Control Arm
SPC Rear Camber Arm and Toe Bolt
Hotchkis Sway Bars

Tonight I was able to get the rear sway bar attached and rear camber arms.

Tomorrow plan on getting the toe bolt holes elongated, than on to the front sway bar. I'm waiting on the coilovers to come in next week.

Well, on to the pics....

First pic show my stupid a$$ elongated the camber bolt hole for the toe bolt . What a waste of time. Next time I'll read the instructions.

This next pic shows the rear camber arm installed. If you do plan on doing this, make sure of the following:

1- You make the new camber arm length the same as the OEM camber arm length
2- Since both pieces are the same, and they can fit either right side up or wrong side down, make sure it's installed as in the pic, since that is how the OEM arm is installed. You could reverse it and flip it upside down, but that is not OEM, and may have an adverse effect.
3- You mark the camber bolt so when you reinstall it, you can get as normal a camber as you can so you can drive to get it aligned.
4- Rear sway bar needs to be dropped to allow the camber bolt to be removed.

This picture shows the Hotchkis sway bars installed. Currently set at medium. These are the new revised bars with collars. Comes with everything you need to install.

To avoid a headache of trying to manuever it around the exhaust, I simply loosened some bolts that allowed the exhaust to move around.

I'm gonna see how long the OEM endlinks last, if not, than I'll have to upgrade those as well.

Oh...also got the PWR Radiator. Once I have some time, that will go in as well. Already made a new home for it.

Thanks for looking...more random pics to follow

Great start on your new suspension setup Vinh. Let us know what your impressions are on the hks after the install? I'm planning to redo my suspension switching my tien cs to flex or possibly hks rs.

With those cusco front camber arms would you be able to have 0 degree camber if you wanted to with the drop you have or will you always have a negative camber?

i don't have the cusco, so can't speak for those.

with the SPL arms, you have -2.0 to +3.0 degree of adjustment, so with these, I would imagine you could have zero camber with any amount of drop you plan on having.

How is the quality of camber arms? Im afraid of buying something that is a little bit cheaper just because i dont want the welds to break or anything to malfunction. I was going to order the stillen or 350evo front camber arms just because i know they are going to be good quality and strength.

What is your opinion on these? I doubt you would put anything on your car that isnt grade A material with the work you have done to it...

haven't driven the car, but based on other reviews, there is a chance the oem end links may make noise.

the front control arm looks beautiful. the welds look professional and I have nothing but good things to say about the customer service at SPL.

less money does not always equate cheap quality.

I'll post reviews when evrything is done and I find a cheap set of 350z 18s

marty, I bought the HKS after reading all the reviews. the tein flex are known to be really stiff, that's why u see a lot of people selling them after they try them.

I believe the HKS is somwhere between the CS and Flex.
