I was thinking more along the lines of an aftermarket Poly offering.

That is always an option, but if you look at how the bushings are in the compression rods that break, it would have to be a completely new bushing, not just new poly insert that uses the factory metal pieces... the bushing holds the compression rod centered once its installed. A standard poly insert will not hold the compression rod in place unless a complete new bushing is made. But it also may not allow for the proper motion of the compresion rod.

Kind of like putting in poly inserts in a 240 tension rod, you will end up ripping the studs out of your lower control arms since they do not alow for the proper rotation of the tension rod when moving...

Thanks for all the corrective information, Jason! I modified my original post to caution people to read this whole thread.

What am I going to do? Don't know yet. The parts I got, which are apparantly for the G35X AWD, don't seem to have any adverse effect. And they are QUIET, no squeaking/creaking. If they are just painted aluminum, and not steel, then the weight is neutral. I suspect the end point geometry is also the same.

I've read every page of this thread and I have not heard anyone mention a squeaking sound coming from the front.

Whenever I go over rough roads (rough being old brick) I hear tons of squeaking each time my car compensates for a rough spot. My car has 64k miles on it, and to my knowledge has never had any sort of suspension work done on it.

Does this fall in line with the 'creaking' noise you guy have been hearing? Upon visual inspection I do not see much more than standard dry cracks on the bushings themselves.

Thanks in advance!

David
