Has any1 blown their stock shocks w/ TEIN springs?

I was thinking of putting TEIN H-Techs on my 03 coupe. The suspension on this car has never been altered. Normally on my cars, I put on a full coilover system but I only want to keep this car for another year but I still want to lower it a little bit. So...I don't have much experience with just aftermarket springs with stock shocks.

Has anyone blown their shocks with these springs?

I'm on 350z H-Techs, it's hardly even a drop. Your shocks will be fine, but you will probably be disappointed you paid $150 and install for basically nothing.

I have the 350z H techs running on my stock shocks. I installed them at 40k and it's 50k now and no issues. I've read on here that to possibly change them around 60k but we'll see. The drop is pretty moderate and i have a 5 min drive from home to work so i'll prolly get more life out of them.

Not likely....!

With the Tein H-Techs the drop is so minimal you won't have issues with the
OEM shocks. I only installed mine to reduce the gap over the top of the tires....and it worked....

How bad was the ride when your shocks blew out? Was it really noticeable?

^You ride will be horrible. Blown shocks on these cars are just horrid. You feel every bump, dip and pebble in the road. If you are worried just do it right the 1st time and get either a set of good coilovers or buy a set of aftermarket shocks to go with your springs.

Well doing it right the first time all depends on the person...I've outlived my slammed integra days in the 90's Which is why i chose the Htechs. yeah i've looked into coilovers. I think with the coilovers i'll be tempted to go much lower. And I don't want that. Later on I plan to get some Dspecs but for now with only 50k on the shocks(10k on the springs) But I figure why not use the hell out of the OEM as I wont' be able to sell them.

Anyhow thanks for the tip!

Since the height isn't changed that might, you should be okay. But how long the shocks will last might be a function of the new springrates. If they aren't too much stiffer than OEM, you might be fine.

I had Eibach springs and after time my shocks got really bad. I'm sure the Eibach's greatly reduced the life of them. Not sure what kind of effect the Tein's will have.

I just installed Tein Flex Coilovers and it is seriously the best mod I have done yet. The difference between coilovers and lowering springs is a night and day difference. Wish I would have done it from the getgo. So much fun to drive now!!!
