I bought two different types off of ebay. The dust boots tore after 1500 miles and when I removed the ball joints, they were flopping around like a limp dick.

OK, I am ready to buy the Ebay ball joints but after reading they are crap. I would like to know if there is a better quality product to be bought. I am having the clunking over little bumps going slow and the noise also when breaking lightly at some speeds. Tech already told me the ball joint on driver side is shot, just to buy a replacement.

Thanks

How easy would it be to press the ball joints in? I can't believe the rental ball joint press would be that easy????

^^ they aren't that hard to press in and out. The press is pretty much a c-clamp

I just got my ball joints in the mail yesterday. Bought the Taiwan $60 Shipped eBay ones, they come with the conical spacer. I was reading on my350 that the boots tear easily...has anyone on here used Energy boots in place of the weak ones?

blak max made it look easy, but I'm sure I'll run into problems and not be able to press it in there.

1st time took some muscle. Make sure you use a breaker bar for more torque

the ball joint press is just going to press it out and press the new one in.. the socket that comes with the press is going to sit on the bottom og the old balljoint (press out) and the outer ledge of the new ball joint (pressing in)
