that sounds like an ordering convention, not a scoring convention

LOL, no worries I questioned it as well. If you look on the IOC's website, wiki, or just do a google search you'll see that the Olympics are scored by the number of golds as opposed to gold medals. Like I mentioned earlier, this is all recent news to me as well. I actually like the system the British and Australians use where you get 5 points for a gold, 3 points for a silver, and 1 point for a bronze. Whatever way people wanna score the Olympics is irrelevant really. The Olympics are so much fun to watch and all athletes should be proud to represent their countries.

Btw, post up some pics of your G once you get it detailed.

Apolo Ohno got DQed because at the final turn, he was caught pushing a Canadian who then fell over.

What a douche after he was like its a Canadian judge in Canada what did you expect???? I expect when you push some one you get DQ how many medals did that little rat win over guys getting DQed. What ever happened to class he could have said I don't agree with the judge but there is nothing i can do now!! But instead he looked like a total whiner>

wow, we have really stepped up the last few days. i think we've had 4 medals three days in a row! sure there have been a few disappointments in these games, but how much fun are we having now?! great stuff!

tomorrow will be a blast.

just a question - how has the rest of canada embraced the games? in Vancouver it is nuts as you can tell from CTV coverage. everywhere you look people are wearing Canada gear. i've never seen 2 hour lineups to get into The Bay, and once you get in everything is sold out! what about TO and other parts of the country?
