Winter Tire Time ?
#61
Well I did the sad deed today. Wheel-Waxed up the Rays and put them to bed for the winter. No real threat of snow, but the temps are gonna be cold and the rears are as smooth as a baby's bottom.
I guess running the summers from late March to early November is not too shabby, considering what the weather can be like.

^^Babies gone to sleep.
Looks like you still have your lift under the coupe, just in case a few winter projects arise on her this winter (maybe)
Karen and I went on a nice Sunday drive along the shoreline and had a little picnic in the FX today. It was sunny all day although a bit cool.
A couple hours after I got home I gave the winter wheels their final torque check.

I did my final cruise on Saturday a.m. on some of the back roads here.
Then did a good cleanup in the p.m. ready for the ritual today.

sad to have to put her away, but happy to give her the TLC.
...besides I get to unwrap a nice present in the spring.

I was a deal machiene this past week, 4 new Yokahama winters for the I30 $170., 4 Blizzaks for the G 2 winters old $270. 4 wheels & tires for my Mother-inlaw's CRV $290. all thanks to kijiji. I guess there is an advantage to being on comp and doing nothing at home.

The under wrap goes completely under the car, closed it in the doors trunk & hood.
I included 2 large bags of desiccant as well.
I was wondering if you managed to scoop a cover yet.
Too bad that there hasn't been many pop up in the classifieds.

No luck yet. I've seen them on fleabay but nothing used. Just US dealers selling. I won't be sealing mine up that way. Just not sure it won't promote trapped moisture unless your desiccant is in that area...and I don't even have a cover! I did scoop up some thick gym commercial rubber I'll be putting under the wheels to minimize flat spotting.
What did you use for desiccant and did you remove battery? I'm not planning to. Just disconnecting the negative terminal.
