I got tired of using the factory jack and had a block machined up to fit a 8 ton hydraulic jack I had. It fits perfectly on the side lift points. I also had the block machined to slide over the end of the ram.
It works great and is easy to jack the FX up. It is nice and portable.

I did scoop up some thick gym commercial rubber I'll be putting under the wheels to minimize flat spotting.

What did you use for desiccant and did you remove battery? I'm not planning to. Just disconnecting the negative terminal.
The idea of the plastic is to prevent moisture from below condensing on the underside. (tip from another site)
I saw this condensation on my other Z (non-covered)

Two BIG bags of cat litter are the desiccant, inside the plastic. (also a tip from another site)
I couldn't decide about the battery.
It looked to be a PITA to remove so it's still in the car on a 'battery Tender'

it would have been a few years ago. I actually paid a small machine shop I know to make it for me.
I really miss that perk of my last job.

i'm planning to do this not this weekend but next weekend. I need a new torque wrench and waiting for craftsman to go on sale. (every other week pretty much). Which is the best way to jack the car? by this I mean where should I point my jack under the car? Perhaps I'm asking some obvious questions here... lmao

Hey, thanks for the heads up. I was actually at cdn tire looking at the 1/2 torque wrench that's on sale.

The thing is.. I'm trying to steer away from mastercraft tools in general. I used to be an avid MC fan (ever since the short stint at cdn tire tools dept. way back when...) but I'm starting to like craftsman tools... is this a bad sign? lol. The sale is on til Thursday so I will see...

^^^ I like Craftsman tools also, my 1/4,3/8,1/2" drive socket sets are Craftsman.
But I have had a Crappy Tire torque wrench for years and I checked it a few times and it was always within spec (I used to overhaul and calibrate torque wrenches in my job)
If your torque wrench is taken care of properly it should last a long time.

Got mine on in the nick of time. Was having trouble finding the wheel key and ended up buying a new set from Hyatt yesterday afternoon. Previous owner calls me at around 9 last night saying he has it in his hand...

Loaded up on winter stuff from crappy tire last night, need a small shovel though. Backed out of the garage this morning into the alley, went to go forward and got stuck Snow was probably 6" or so, pretty high. It's gonna be a long winter I think.

FYI, Castrol Syntec OW30 aka German Castrol is on sale at crappy tire for 7.50/1L. Got a raincheck for 5 bottles
