New G and Zaino

Sorry if this is a repost, But I have a brand new G35 Coupe and have never used Zaino before. Since my Car only has 250 miles and has been in garage, do I just need the ZFX and Z2?

Re: New G and Zaino

If you can I suggest getting the starter kit. It comes with other stuff like Z5, claybar, Z6 that you'll eventually use. First you need to wash your car with Dawn detergent to remove the wax before you apply the Zaino treatments. Follow the application instructions on the web site. I typically alternate between Z2 and Z5 every month now.

Clay bar it.

Even when it's new it has all kinds of crap in the paint from the boat ride over. I did mine after owning it for a month (garage kept) and there was quite a bit of stuff in the paint. The clay bar only takes about 15-20 minutes to do. The part that sucks is you have to wash your car, dry your car, clay bar, then wash and dry your car again. It's a nice feeling knowing your putting the Zaino on perfect paint.

It sounds like if you just want to get started small and not get teh starter kit, the ZFX with Z-2 is the way to go?

Then just wash with dish soap and apply as directed?

Re: New G and Zaino

Ok I just got around to doing this. Washed in Dawn. Didn't use the clay bar this time....Mixed up one oz of Z2 and 4 drops of ZFX. Only used about 1/2 oz on the first coat. Is this too thin? I have a Brilliant Silver G and its hard to see on it. And how long do you really have to wait in between coats? And Z6 between coats right?

That's about the right amount for a coat. You could go thicker if you wanted to. You don't have to wait any time at all between coats if you use the ZFX. And yes, use Z6 between as well.

Re: New G and Zaino

Just got my Zaino order and will probably tackle the initial phase this weekend. I know it will be a lot of work but so many people are loving this product I just had to try it on my black G. I went the whole nine yards with Z2, Z5, Z6, Z7 and ZFX. Yowsa!

Can I still use my random orbital to take of the wax or is it just as easy with towels? I use microfiber pads.

Re: New G and Zaino

I have a orbital buffer and didn't use it. This stuff is so unlike anything else I have ever used. Its like putting on a coat of wax 10 times thinner than any other wax I have used. It goes on and off so easy I didn't feel the need. After 4 coats of Z2 and Z6 I have a amazing shine.....

Thanks. I'll use it on the wife's car with the other wax.
