clutch switch

has anyone ever got rid of the switch so that you can start the cr with out pushing the clutch in. i know why it is there so that you dont accidently start you car in gear and ittake off. I am well aware of the risks I am just asking if there is any affect on the computer of navi systems.

I think that switch is also used for the cruise control. It will turn off if you press the clutch while cruising. Shouldn't be too big of a problem if it didn't though.

Oh, and yes, people have done it. Ask anyone with a remote start on a 6mt.

You'll f#&k your engine starter, and also your tranny. I don't recommend that you do it

the only reason i see for doing this is a remote starter...then you have to make sure you never leave your car in gear.

you dont have to remove the clutch start to have remote start on a 6mt...people should do research before they post stupid comments...the new clifford alarms have a manual trans setting for their remote starts

so explain how a switch witch tells the ignition not to start cause it is not depressed can destroy the starter and the tranny. If it was left in gear then started then yes you can def do damage im not disagreeing with that. But back that comment up if you are gonna say it.

it wont screw anything up...don't listen to anyone

Simply locate the clutch switch at the top of the clutch and detach the harness. There should be 2 wires on the harness, simply splice them together and you're done.

hey, here's a stupid comment. go fvck yourself. i don't need to sit and search to see if there is a remote start for manual transmission a$$hole. a decent human being would have posted something to the effect of "yeah, they do make a starter for manuals, so i don't see the purpose of disconnecting the switch on the clutch." get some manners so you can stop being a d!ck.

When I did my remote start I used a relay to make the car think that switch was engaged. That way under normal conditions it still works the same and you have to push the clutch in.

From: Searching for Signal.............
i installed my alarm myself the i have the Clifford and when i put the remote start in there is a blue wire on the alarm this wire is for the immobilizer bypass which has the key in it and it only sends the signal when the car is remote started so i used that wire with a relay so only when you remote start it will bypass the clutch and the bypass module (556u) i also done some with bypassing the clutch like mentioned above so you don't need to step on the clutch to start it and had no problems did a car like a year ago and no starter or transmission problems.
the only way i can see you having trans problems and starter problems is if you try to remote start the car while its in gear but only if you do it constantly
