Automatic Transmission flush
I have an '03 with a little over 41K miles. Should I get a transmission flush? I ask the dealership, the service guy told me that I don't need to change it until 60K miles. I kinda want to change it because the car is 6 years old and I have a coupon from the dealership for flush and fill at $198.

doesn't service manual says that it should be done at 70k?
nvmind just read it.............it said to do it at 30k.......damn I'm 40k too late.
Anyways.
I got almost 74k on mine and I was doing my oil changes at the dealership till bout 70k and they never once suggested to change tranny fluid.
I will be doing it prolly this weekend.......that and rear diff fluid.
BTW..........What's a good fluid for tranny?

Service manual says 10 qt...........that's allllllllot
Dude in this video http://www.infinitihelp.com/diy/gsed...on_service.htm only drains 3.5 qt and replaces only 3.5 qt
The description of the video says it's AT tranny.

capacity = 10 qts or so. Flush is going to to take more than that. But it's not like you need to worry about the amount as one can't flush it DIY unless you own that expensive machine.
Flush /= drain and fill.
The need for a flush/drain is highly dependant on how you drive. If you try to keep up with E36 M3s all day, then you will stress your fluid and need a change sooner.

all you got to do is
Undo the return hose
start the engine and have it idle
and keep on putting fresh fluid in the tranny till clean fluid starts coming out of the return hose.
