Tranny slip or is this normal? 5AT.

I have 90K on my stock tranny and the shifts feel GREAT whether in manual or in auto mode. The ONLY time 2nd gear SEEMS to slip is when I'm in manual mode and bang the rev limiter for a moment in the 1st-2nd shift. It's a slight hesitation and then it keeps going.

I'm not sure if it's the clutches slipping or if it's the engine regaining it's power after rev limiting.

What's the experience from everyone here regarding this?

That's the transmission computer cutting power, commonly known as Torque Management. It's annoying and is there to reduce wear on the tranny. In the 03/04 cars, it's more apparent.

Good then, I guess. It has happened because I sometimes forget the lag there is in the 1-2 shift in manual mode. I can't believe it takes so long for the tranny to react, it's rediculous. Every other gear is great though.

If you are driving in "D" and your car hits the rev limiter before shifting-- it is slipping.

When in D it works just fine. This only happens in manual mode when I shift a little late.

Ah, yes, most likely just normal. When I am in manual mode I shift ahead of time [1-2 secs] to prevent this issue.
