Need some help trying to confirm the diff I need.
I'd like to put together an upgraded pumpkin with 3.69 gears and an aftermarket LSD.
From my understanding, certain V36 sedans/coupes and 370Z's came from the factory with 3.69 gears, so I'd like to take advantage of this and hopefully find a pumpkin off of a low-mileage car, probably from a junkyard. (This graphic is helpful from Z1Motorsports: https://cdn.z1motorsports.com/upload...GearRatios.pdf).
I know I need to purchase an MT pumpkin so it has the correct flange (circular w/ 4 holes, as opposed to 3-tipped, 3-holed AT flange).
What I don't understand is whether I'll need to buy new stub axle(s) or whether I'll have to modify my stock ones. Is this dependent on the LSD I purchase?
Is anyone familiar with which stub axles come with open vs VLSD pumpkins?

The 3.3 FD found in V35 and Z33 automatic cars is 10mm thicker than the 3.5 (and up) FD. If you put a 3.5 FD into an auto pumpkin, it then essentially becomes an MT pumpkin. At that point, you'd need the VLSD from a 3.5 FD pumpkin or an aftermarket LSD to work with those gears; VLSD from a 3.3 FD will no longer fit. When looking to purchase aftermarket LSD, this is what AT vs MT specifies.
If you decide to go with a 3.7 FD from a V36 or Z34, if you keep your V35 or Z33 output shafts your CC should still work.

You don't even need to buy the short stub shaft, I just take a port-a-band and cut 1" off the end of the long ones and file the edge down to a slight bevel so it's not sharp and cutting the oil seal.
