Yeah, same problem here. But It seems to shift better when you pull lever not towards 6 o'clock going into second, but somewhat 6:30-ish-towards yourself.

its a clank noise and its just hard putting it in the gear itself, like its not smooth. but, i realized that its perfectly fine at a certain rpm, around 3-4k and when the car is warm.

mine is very tempremental, sometimes it goes right in, sometimes it takes a few seconds. I dont force it into 2nd - if you apply a little pressure and it doesnt feel like its going to go, just wait a few seconds and it will slide right in. I guess its the syncro.

How old is your car? I had this problem when my car was new. I now have 55,000 miles on the car and the tranny shifts very smoothly. Much smoother than when I first got the car.

I have a post on this as well. I've got the same problem. How old is your car? Mine is new and I hope that this goes away. As you say, as long as I'm in the 3000RPM range when I shift it is usually better. So I am hoping that it is a synchronization problem that will go away as the car gets broken in.

I just had my tranny fluid flushed and now I have all the problems above, thanks alot dealer. The tranny was pefect for the first 33K miles, now it whines and jams hard into the slots. Plus it feel like the tranny is putting tons of drag on the engine. While in neutral and the engine revving at 1500rpm if I release the clutch the RPMs drop to 1000. That to me indicates the input shaft is putting tons of drag on the engine itself. I bet the moron forgot to put the new tranny fluid in after draining the old.

Sounds like they put the wrong grade oil in it.

Does anyone know what grade/weight oil they are supposed to put in the tranny? I guess I should have to check up on the dealer now. F'n steamed, I am.

Oh, and the differential whines, so I'm guessing the friggen tech swapped the fluids and put the 90W **** in the tranny, and the lightweight oil in the diff. Now I'm even more pissed.

I have had problems with the 1-2 with both my tranny's. It's more the POS synchros than anything else.
