Could? Yes. Are the differences enough to save my engine in real life? Probably not. And if the engine is run for that long w/o oil where any differences might be made, would I really want that engine anymore? Probably not.

Mobil 1 is very good oil, just not full synthetic, (except Mobil 0w-40). A blend of group III and group IV.
Amsoil, Redline, and Royal Purple are the only true synthetics generally available.
I have faith in the oil nerds on bobistheoilguy cause they live this stuff.
