Marvin, I'll definitely get the cheapest price to fix it and share step by step info with everyone else ... Now I just have to order this tube, $58 is nothing. I just hope recharging and labor isnt hundreds, we'll see though. Martin!

Re: AFTERMARKET INTAKE OWNERS---READ ASAP

I put mine on with the heat sheild and followed your "twist" method DED....with that and a slight bend on the bracket holding the MAF to the popcharger and loosening the screw holding the Ztube, opening up that hole to the brace that holds the tube to the engine then pushing to as close the engine as possible....I got about a little more than 1/8" clearance. Tightened everything up and it was fine...
No movement towards the A/C line.......and I checked it with hood open and Opening up the throttle all the way out to 6K RPM's off and on.........

the entire intake Z'tube and all actually moves away from the A/C line under up and down throttle....
so if you have clearance you should be good
as far as bumps....that thing is pretty solid in there...the only thing that moves mine is the 270lbs of torque the VQ puts out when you open her up.....an like I said and thats moving away from the A/C line....

So all is well with mine......but I do see where you are talkin about with the heat sheild it moving to the right.......but with your twisting it off line and a few touch ups it'll work out even with the heat sheild....

Will POST PICS tomorrow.......
nuttin beats a pic right!

Thanks for the notice on this-- my AC pipe had some small scratches in it. Wrapped it up the with pipe insulating foam and put electric tape around the foam where it meets the z-tube.

hey illg35 if you are refering this "tube" as in the a/c line only $58 bucks ?? im sorry man but that part alone is $200-$300 thats why it cost so much to fix infiniti made it "special" for there cars.. sorry man it aint going to cost $58 bucks.. oh yeah and a/c is really expensive to fix because they have to do a bunch of stuff..

Oh, i called up competition infiniti by me and I explained the tube, where it was and everything and the guy said its $58.32 exactly. Its just the High pressure AC line, not the whole thing just a foot of it or something. He could have been wrong but that's what I was told. i go there thrusday so I guess we'll see. iLL

Re: AFTERMARKET INTAKE OWNERS---READ ASAP

i used a plastic wire sleeve from Ace Hardware and a couple zip ties, one to pull back the a/c channel slightly and the other to hold the sleeve in place and make sure it won't open up. there was slight wearing on the channel so hopefully the sleeve will help protect it for a while

Re: AFTERMARKET INTAKE OWNERS---READ ASAP

Ok, I just checked my Intake and it seems that the MAF sensor was cutting into the AC line. I checked the line for holes and there werent't any. It seems as though the MAF screw was cutting into the line slowly. So, I ran to Lowe's bought some insulation and zip ties and tried to fix the problem. From the pics, do you guys think it cut in all the way? I didnt find any leakage spots or residue where the area was cut away at. Here are some pics:

Re: AFTERMARKET INTAKE OWNERS---READ ASAP

So, you guys don't think it cut all the way through right? I tried to see if a toothpick would go through the line, but it didn't, thankfully. I was wondering why my AC wasnt that cold on hot days too. When I set my AC to 70 it didn't seem that cold, and when I put it to 60 nothing changed.

Hopefully, it will work better from now on.

Re: AFTERMARKET INTAKE OWNERS---READ ASAP

Gotta' say that the rubber hose fix looks like the best to me. I've done the "dabomb method", but might be looking for some rubber tubing for a more permanent fix.
