Is the problem that the rubber 0 rings shrink and become smaller??

Wondeing if wiping them with a coat of engine seal conditioner would restore them to original and stop the leak??? Anybody tried this??

I think if someone would post detailed pics of the failed seal(s), that would be really helpful in determining some kind of affordable fix.

Yes, that would help. We need to understand what is going wrong with the o ring so a simpler fix can be worked out. I have engineering folks available to get into this when more detailed informations comes about.

Thanks Man! I have an 03 with 64k an am experiencing the same issue. Scheduled an appointment with the dealer for Monday. I'm glad to hear it is covered under the 70k warranty. Hopefully the dealer won't give me a hard time. I already have to drive 50 miles to an Infiniti dealer because the Nissan dealer isn't authorized to perform factory warranty work. WTF?

if the issue applies to both coupes and sedans, then why did the mod place the sticky in the Coupe forum?

im at stealership right now and(ill leave name out untill they try to screw me)...
he just told me it would be a $130 diagnostic fee?
I told him this should be covered by powertrain warr. and he said that the mechanic still has to determine that. I drive an 04 coupe with 56k miles.
According to carfax my coupe was purchased in March 2004, so I should still have powertrain warranty right?

good news...
infinity of orlando will be replacing my heads(both) under warranty.
i did have to wait 2and half hours for the technician to confirm it was powertrain. I had appt for 11am and did not hear from the service advisor until 1:30 when I went looking for him cuz i had to be at work by 3pm.
i mentioned my leather tear on the driver seat and he said that wasnt covered under warranty but would he try and get a good faith replacement for me.

That's great to hear man. I know Orlando Infiniti can be hard-headed sometimes when honoring warranty work. Sucks that you had to wait 2.5 hrs before getting the A-OK on replacing the valve covers under warranty. Hope they hooked you up with a decent loaner (G37?)

It sounds like most of us, esp. the '03-'04 G owners, have encountered this problem so I should probably think about stopping by the dealer soon for this problem. I haven't checked mine yet but since my powertrain warranty is closing in soon (6 yrs from original in-service date of Dec. 2002), I should check this problem out first before going to the dealer.

Got an 08 g35 sedan, suks on gas compared to 6mt, but fun to drive.
Definately pull ur coils packs as soon as you can and look for oil on them.
My service advisor was a bit of a ***** and yea orlando infiniti is tuff about warranty work.
I was a bit confused on the warranty, maybe some 1 can clear this up.
Basic warranty is 4 yr 60k and powertrain is 5 yr 70k???

The powertrain warranty covers engine and transmission parts for 6 years or 70K miles, whichever comes first.
