g37 swap?
#3
I would bet it would be more cost effective to sell the G35 and buy a G37. You're not just talking engine changes here, but also probably new ECU and the n electronics to interface the new ECU to old gauges, and this is all assuming that the engine mounts match up and the old transmission fits.
If you're doing some this insane, why stop at the G37 engine? Why not put in a small crate motor. Wouldn't a G35 sound sweet with a V8? How about recycling an engine from a wrecked ferrari? Flat plane V8's sound wicked

+1 on the being cheaper to buy the g37. it would cost so much money to buy a g37 motor and tranny, all the electronics, and the labor.
there is a place in huntsville alabama that makes LS conversions. any LS motor you want. they did it for the 350z, so im sure they could do it for the g35, all you do is bring them the motor and tranny, and they do supply all the custom mounting brackets and everything. Here is there website...

Here is a link to a guy on the my350z.com forums that did his. Pretty bad ***. even has videos. if you are going to pay that much money to do a swap the LS motor is a much better route.

There is a 2004 G35 article in the latest Iport Tuner magazine where someone from GA has done exactly that with a V8. Some of the blower is exposed above the hood like a 60's muscle care. Pretty sick.

i just ran into some money and i was considering trying to do the swap. i know its going to cost money, but everything at 1st is money. cant locate engine anywhere, and dont have someone who is somewhat familiar with the car to let me know exactly how much custom fabrication has to be done. like i said its just an idea, but sooner or later someone will do it.

Unfortunately just because someone else does it does not mean that it will be more cost effective for you to partake in the same swap. Anything is possible with the right amount of money. Is the swap worth it...maybe not to me but to you it could be the fruition of all your g35 dreams. Personally...LS1 in a G35 is where my money would go. Throw a rear mount turbo on just for kicks and enjoy!
