fuel type?
By the way... In OC fullteron there is a gas station says racing fuel where Gilbert and Malvern meets. It did not have any octane level but only racing fuel...Anyone tried this? Price was like 9.32 per gallon hh

I used to live right around the corner from there on ash but at that time I drove a POS accord so I never filled up with the good stuff haha.
Don't quote me on this, because I'm not sure if it's true. I remember either hearing it on TV, or somebody telling me that if you use a lower octane fuel than what your car calls for, you will build up carbon deposits over time and lessen the life of your engine.
If this is true, I would think that periodically using 87 wouldn't really do any damage...it's the long term use of 87 that will hurt our Gs. If you routinely change your oil and periodically flush your fuel system with a fuel injector cleaner, it may counter the long term effects.
Performance wise, you probably wouldn't see much of a difference unless you're an aggressive driver, or you take your G to the track.
I'd say, stick with 93/91...it's not that much more. If you can't swing a few extra bucks a week...heck, find a way! Start recycling...open a lemonade stand...panhandle...do what it takes. I'm just being silly, but you get my point.
Hey, I also remember something about a cars octane rating being based on its compression ratio, and that using the wrong octane makes the car less fuel efficient (going from 93 to 87), and does not improve performance (going from 87 to 93).
Don't quote me on this stuff...I may have gotten it all wrong.
