Coolant Bleeder Valve

Coolant Bleeder Valve

Hey Guys.

I changed out my coolant not too long ago. In the FSM is says to replace the O-ring located at the bleeder valve. I didnt even see an O-ring. I called the dealership and asked them and the parts manager said that he had no listing of such an o-ring for the bleeder valve.

Will someone take a pic of this bleeder valve with said O-ring for me..so I can compare with mine?

Do you have a o-ring on it? I can't find an o-ring on mine....

Are you talking about the heater hose bleeder valve? If so, I just replaced my plug last week and there was no o-ring.

Yup. MSRP was like $7 for that little fawker. Surprisingly, my local dealership had it in stock. Didn't have a damn Nismo Rad Cap, but they had this part.

I couldn't find a part number online, but my parts guy was able to find it on their computer real quick.

Damn. Pricey little batch isn't it?

DId you just replace it cuz it said to, or were you losing pressure?

I completely stripped it from using the wrong sized Philips. I had to remove the heater hose, take a pair of pliers, and torque the fawker off. I have made it a point to carry a new Philips screwdriver that fits it perfectly. It is now called my 'use it or pay $7 to replace the damn plastic screw screwdriver'.

I cant remember if mine had a o ring, but mine is stripped closed lol

GG, You stripped it closed from tightening too much?

probably stripped it like me and can't get a screwdriver to open it anymore

I stripped the head on it I think due to it being on tight from the last time and getting it very hot to burb the bubble I had when the t stat would not open.

cool. I guess there is no o-ring for the bleeder screw. I'll just ensure its tight...but try not to strip it.

Are you talking about the air relief plug? There's an o-ring on the plug and also an o-ring on the coolant drain plug.

I see no O-ring on my air relief plug...and yes, thats what i was referring to.
