Electronic Beep Instead of Horn Beep
Still in the testing phase.
I need to make sure the beeper is going to hold up to the elements.
I'm also experiancing a slight problem with mine, I'm not sure if its the module or the beeper but every once in a while it sounds more like a buzzer then a beeper. Its really not a big deal, but I would like to figure out what is causing it.

I can see what I can do. I still have some minor tweaks to perform to the code to get it working 100% with the new beeper. I've been crazy busy lately and haven't been able to work on any 'new' products.
Here are the new sound clips (with video).
I'm really not impressed with them, as now the 'beeps' seem louder then they really are. They are not super loud, are quite noticable.
Both movies are about 5 megs a piece.
The first one is me pressing the 'LOCK' button twice quickly to trigger the KPtechnologies window module and sunroof module. Then, there is a long pause, followed by a lock pulse, a short pause, and then a lock pulse followed by an unlock pulse in order to trigger the KPtech sunroof module to open the sunroof.

Lock is one beep, unlock is two beeps, with a short pulse in between them.
The 2nd movie consists of two quick lock pulses to raise the windows and close the sunroof, a long delay, a lock pulse, a short delay, and then an unlock pulse. This movie is much closer and you can an accurate idea of
what the beep sounds like (105db 2800Hz tone).

In both of these movies the beeper is mounted outside of the brake area of the under hood. I think it is definately loud enough to put the beeper back in the brake area, under my JDM battery cover and out of site!

Oh, and also, I fixed the bug in the software that was preventing the module from working 100% of the time. After my first day of testing it has worked flawlessly each time. I would guesstimate that you can hear this from 40' away from the car.
I started out with much shorter beeps, but I was walking through a Home Depot parking lot and I heard someone unlock their car and it had the longer beeps, and I kinda liked them. The thing about the longer beeps is it makes it easier to hear from further away.
I could make the length of the beeps somewhat programmable (long, med, short). I have some other stuff I need to do to finalize the code anyway, so adding a bit more wouldn't be an issue.

Sounding good!
I also think the beeps are too long. If you could make them programmable that would be great!
Can I make a suggestions? I really like the approach Toyota/Lexus has to these beeps. Would it be possible for you to do some field research? If you went to your local Toyota/Lexus dealer I am sure they would let you lock and unlock their cars. If you recorded their beeps then you would have something to work towards. Just a suggestions.

I might have to do that. I wouldn't mind 'borrowing' an RX330!
I'm pretty happy with the beeper itself though, so I think I would like to stick with it, meaning we are stuck on the frequency, pitch, and amplitude. The only real adjustment is the length of the beep.

Yeah the beeps are way too long... reminds me of trucks backing up, too. Anyway, great work and with shorter beeps, this should be a really nice product.
BTW, why is this in Engine, Drivetrain & Forced Induction forum???

Nice work.
