Re: PULLEY UPDATE miles/problems?

Hi.
I can't recall, but I've ordered them and had them installed by Stillen each time.
By the way, I heard that they no longer install them due to the fact that almost 50% of the installations seem to have problems associated with them. This was expressed by their Service Manager.

Re: PULLEY UPDATE miles/problems?

This forum so needs emoticons so I could insert the "I'm with Stupid" IE, everything good ol Ted said!

I have around 12,000 miles since I had all the mods done and the car just ripped off the best naturally aspirated Automatic 1/4 mile time on the planet so it must be doing ok.

Mobil 1 for me too...after the first 10K

Re: PULLEY UPDATE miles/problems?

Damn!! Nice time. How much was the UR Crank Pulley? How much is the complete set? I'm thinking of making the crank pulley and lightweight clutch/flywheel combo as my only mods ... maybe a plenum and high flow cats too, but those are at the bottom of my list.

Re: PULLEY UPDATE miles/problems?

I can't even remember how much the pulley was...not that much...and it's only the crank shaft pulley...

Re: PULLEY UPDATE miles/problems?

I'm really thinking about doing this mod. My service manager said that he's put quite a few of these pulleys on the Gs at the dealership. He didn't seem to think it would cause any problems at all, and said that it would not void my warranty. Not that the warranty matters anyways, because in another 15k miles, my warranty will be gone. But I plan on keeping this car for as long as it will run (hopefully 200k miles+), so I'm not sure if I want to be messing with her until I get a second car.

Re: PULLEY UPDATE miles/problems?

i held a stock pulley in my hand today at the UR headquarters, and then their pulley, and the difference in weight is ridiculous. im definitely doing this mod after putting a couple thousand miles on my G. an inexpensive, safe, and noticeable mod IMO.

Re: PULLEY UPDATE miles/problems?

Yes it comes with 2 smaller belts.

What? You think that John Kerry is not consistent?

Re: PULLEY UPDATE miles/problems?

OK - so here is my oil analalysis. Have had the Pulley for half the miles that are on the G. Have been using Mobil1 since my first oil change.

No problems! Green light and a big thumbs up from Blackstone.

I'll keep doing the oil ****-alysis and update you all in the future. This may not be definitive long-term proof...but, it is does lend more credence to the UR pulley's claims over the anti-pulley camp, who have not posted any evidence other than hearsay.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying my pulley.

Cheers, Ted

P.S. Remember, these results are for the UR crank pulley. I cannot support any other brand, as I have no comparison or facts to support their claims.

Re: PULLEY UPDATE miles/problems?

The UR pulley belt does not come with the pulley. You need to purchase it separate. The dealers usually just package it together. If buying online, it is a separate line item.

Cheers, ted
