With the rest of your old oil when you do a oil change?

OR

In my case, I have a old plastic gas container that I use for my used oil collection. When it's full, I empty it at a Eco station for free. So any oil collected from this mod will be emptied into the converted gas container.

We don't change our own oil mostly for this reason. I also know of no such drop off places I've never heard of anything like that around here at least.

Most autopart stores have oil recyclers inside now. You just take your oil in a container and drop it off to them.

Any facility that sells larger quantities of oil products is required by Federal law to accept your oil. The facilities just don't advertize it because they want to keep their hazardous materials removal expenses to a minimum. Basically any automotive shop, Walmart service center, auto parts store, etc has to take the stuff.

looks like DaveO puts it in a shot glass and drinks it. (based on his post of course, I've never actually seen his liver, so I'm not real sure... but his farts do smell like a VQ with Stillen exhaust)

LOL - JK Dave!

LOL!!! It's kinda like standing behind a top fuel dragster... you can be 100 feet away but when those fumes come your way - eyes get red, nose gets runny... okay enough fun at DaveO's expense... I've never smelled his farts. But I do think he drinks shots of motor oil

We have Napa, Auto Zone, Advance AutoParts, Westwood Auto, and the general mom and pop local chains. There may be one or two that I'm missing but yes we do have auto parts stores.

Trey's wife,

Advance Auto Parts recycles oil. They have a HUGE oil container in the back of the store (behind the counters.) Just tell them that you have oil to drop off, and they send you to the back.

BTW, is anyone pouring the "caught" oil back into the motor? I don't see why you wouldn't.

Also, my home depot catch can is now about half full after about 500-600 miles. I guess I do alot of WOT to max VAcuum....plus alot of engine braking/double-clutch downshifting. In those situations, the engine is pull almost 30" of vacuum (I have a gauge.)
