I don't know if they still have this deal, but there was a special if you bought a Sony tv you got a free PS3. (a friend of mine did this deal about a month ago)

Other than that I know a friend who said she got I think $100 off for applying for and paying with a sony credit card.

Edit: I did a quick search and found the deal. You get $100 credit back and 12 months no interest on a PS3 purchase. http://sonycard.sony.com/sonygateway...ferlink=1UP100

^ we got the 65 inch version...great TV isnt it? lol

lyndon if you really looking into high def, id try to go with a 1080P set up, since you will probably keeping it. as for the choice, def get a PS3. Ive played a few video games, but i mostly use it to play blu ray and reg DVDs (it upconverts too). the best advice i can give you, dont go for the most expensive in the class, just get something you like and has good specs. cause in 6 months the price will drop, and youll wonder where your money went lol.

i also use blockbuster online, has a BIG selection of blu ray, PLUS the store is stocking a lot more than tehy used too. Blockbuster is pushing Blu ray like crazy...DO IT!

think im just getting the pioneer plasma and stand for now. ill worry about blu-ray after ces when the new products come out. ps3 is the best right now but its multi-functions also hurts it on a home theater standpoint. the best regular blu-ray panasonic player has its downfalls as well.

I ended up getting the Samsung 4671 LCD a few weeks ago and it is a great TV. --> AVSForum . The quality is great and I'm a fan of the glossy finish. The only thing I wish is that I didn't slip up on a deal for the 5281 which has a CR of 500,000:1. If you don't want to get the full use or pontential out of expensive 1080p tv, I'd suggest going to wal-mart and picking up something there for now. Don't waste your money if you're not sure when you going to get a Blu-Ray player, etc. Plus if you wait, you can just pick up a Laser TV.
. Lastly, +1 on the PS3 for a Blu-Ray...It's great as a player and you can play games on it.

HDTVs are like computers... There is always a bigger, better, faster, sharper unit coming out real soon now...

Doesn't make a difference at all. Don't get caught up in the 1080p hype. Depending on your viewing distance, you won't be able to tell the difference. I'd definitely go with the Pioneer over the Samsung, then Panasonic is my next choice.

i did this back in Sept. They were doing $150 credit back on a sony purchase over $299. also, the purchase must be done at a Sony store or via Sony's website. the closest sony store is Orlando.

Please don't waste your money on the BB HDMI cable, unless you plan to just use it until your cheap one arrives via UPS.
