That's what most manufaturers call "normal". Back in the middle sixties, the dealers would say 1 quart in 1000 miles was "normal". I say 1 quart in 7500 is acceptable, more than that and you need to start checking it weekly.

I would like to see a survey to find out which cities and stated are willing to change engine blocks?!
These are probably small cities with friendly dealers? Just checking.

A good engine, like my three Hondas use "ZERO" oil or close to that all the way to 100,000 miles, in between oil changes.
My G35 was like that until 26,000, when suddenly it started drinking oil.
All my attempts till last oil change, last month were futile, the last one is very promissing!
I wil wait till 1000 miles minimum before offering my solution, if it works.

My G sedan used maybe 4 oz of oil between 7500 mile changes until I hit about 85,000 miles, now it uses about a quart every 7000 miles. I agree, there should be no (less than 1/4 qt) use between changes.

Primarily '05, '06. However my '04 had its engine replaced for failing the engine oil consumption test with 58k miles on it.

Mine formed a rod knock. Consumption was about 1qt to 1.5 every 3k. Then it started getting a slight knock which seemed to make it consume more. But the Bulletin says do the motor if you still hear noise after its topped off so I will never know. At the dealership now getting inspected for sludge. Extended nissan warranty and their rules. Good thing I use synthetic every 3-3.5k miles should be spotless.
