Mine still basically holding at 1/4qt/1000mi even with synth which I just switched to last service.
Maybe a little more consumption than dino, but nothing to take note of.
Still its a pain and no doubt will be like this for the rest of its life, oh well.
Least its better than the 1qt/1200mi I was getting before.
Hope your new VQ will be a good one and better than mine, oil consumption wise.

^^^haha!! Yeah, thanks bro. It has been a long PITA road. But I guess that saying holds true in this case, "Good things come to those that wait." I tell you, I was patient like a mofukka. A few times I just wanted to say F IT and get a lawyer. But I had patience and let it all play out the way they wanted to do it. I did EVERYTHING that they asked and it finally paid off. I hope my next engine is as strong as my current engine minus the oil problem. Now I can finally start looking into my plans to go FI again!! 
Of course I have to break the new engine in and make sure it doesn't have the same problem first.
