I, too, have completed this task all by myself. With the help of G35Driver.com and it's members.
It is pretty simple once you get started. And the instructions are pretty st8 forward.

But what I did notice when I did this task.

I cleaned the driver side, put it all back in place. Turned the ignition to ACC, no fuel...
so I was like, let me clean the other side, maybe it will work.

So I took apart the other side (passenger side), which was a bit mroe tricky to get the unit out the small hole. cleaned it up, and bam! it works!

If I think about it right... Passenger side is for your meter and driver side tells when your tank is full... =X

Before, I never got to fill up my tank to full, now that both are cleaned, it goes past full....

Once again, THANKS G35DRIVER!!

Thanks everyone! I Also have high resistance readings on the sending units of my 04 g35x sedan and did what Moses described as well as bending the spring loaded contact element on both units as suggested by 04G356MT. The sending unit on the passenger side is tricky to place back especially with the black hose attached to it. I got an extra 3 bars on the fuel gauge just by doing this. Also you can eliminate gas pressure by doing the procedure when the car has been sitting for a few hours or follow the service manual to release the fuel pressure.

Happened to my car while it was fairly new, about a year or less. The gas gauge would drop significantly after I knew I had recently filled up or just drop unexpectedly. Brought it to the dealer's attention and they asked that I return the car with 1/4 tank for them to successfully perform testing and any repairs. Turned out needing some kind of item replaced and haven't had an issue since w/my 2004 G35 coupe. I wasn't required to pay for this service.

I am having this same problem in my 04 coupe: gas is spilling out of the tank but only reads full in the needle

we must notify Infinity of this issue .... call 1(800) 662-6200 and tell them what is going on, after enough complaints they will issue a reacall thats all we can do ...
