I just had the dealer replace my gas gauge sensors under warranty. I mentioned to them that it wasn't always reading a full tank when I filled up, so they said they'd check it out during some maintenance I was having done.

New sensors in, so far, so good.

I brought it up during a scheduled maintenance and they just said, "that happens on every car". Although it wasn't as bad a problem, it'd only be off by a quarter tank.

I took my car to the dealer for several problems one of them being that sometimes I go to fill my car up and it would stop like if it was full after a couple of gallons and it won't let me fill up.

They said they fixed it, but now when I fill up all the way (15 gallons) the needle only reads 3/4 of a tank. I took it back they said they fix some sensors, can't remember the name.

After a week of driving I notice that I drove over 420 miles, but the needle says I still have 1/4 of a tank left. I went to the gas station put about 5 gallons and the needle won't move. I took it back to the dealer. They said they found something else wrong and fixed it.

So right after leaving the dealership I go to the nearest gas station and fill my car up again, this time I put 18 gallons and they needle is back to reading only 3/4 of a tank. I call the dealership and they said to bring it back tomorrow.

It kinda sucks, but at least the service manager is really cool about me going back all the times, I am still under warranty and I get a G37 as a loaner each time free of charge.

Hopefully they will fix it tomorrow and I will ask him to write down everything they have replaced due to this problem and I will update you guys.

The first time dealership replaced the shutter valve, then the sending unit and the last time they said they found the baffle bent. Now my car is working fine

when you are disconnecting the fuel lines do you disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to release the pressure? thats what i had to do on my bmw or else gas would spill everywhere. Will try this today

one thing must remember don't let the gas spilled on the rubber O-ring. As it'll expand and pain in the *** to put it back into it place again.

I don't know as i don't disconnect the terminal and you do get the oil spillage from the pump a big as it was under pressure.

Dealer just replaced my passenger side sensor because it always read 1/8 below F on fill up. Now it reads 1/8 over F on a fill up.

Can someone help?
I want to clean my sensors as my gauge never indicates full after a fillup, but I can't get the rear seat out. I have the service manual and when I follow their instruction to lift the seat off the retaining pin and pull forward, I can't get it off the pin!
I've pulled as hard as I can but no go. Is there a trick to this?!?
Thanks

^ Try pushing the seat back a bit, then pull on the plastic ring forward (towards the front of the car), then it should release it and you should be able to pull the seat up. Dont' forget about the seat belt buckles.

What plastic ring are you referring to?

on the bottom of the rear seats "front" you will see some rings/pull tabs with rings

you need to pull those in order to release the clip holding the seat in place
