How much G35 can I get for $15k?
First was thinking $10k but that didn't seem like I could get one with good mileage + condition.
Manual and spoiler of course. I'm not going to go higher than $15k.
random other question: If it's been taken care of and I take care of it I could drive it to 250k+ right? IE without needing to replace things every two months or any big ticket repair items?
I also like the Lexus IS250.
My thinking was, I could buy a new Camry for $18k, or a used G35c for $15k if it's got <80k miles. I'm willing to give up the mileage to drive a car I actually like, but if it's not reliable (aka it's going to struggle to 175k miles like a GM) then I don't want it. It's my understanding Nissan is pretty close to Honda/Toyota[accelerator aside] reliability wise.

Tires: replace very 10-15k - Cost: $900+
Spark plug seal - every 70k. Cost : $700 plus (u must purchase valve cover gasket at the same time).
Window Motor, Door lock mechanism:
-----
I had a S2k and Integra before the G. Integra hit 200k. Never had to replace a door lock mechanism, window motor or valve cover/sparkplug gasket.
The only thing I had to replace was the clutch/flywheel, and timing belt, and other belts at 150k. That was it.
Everything else was just simple stuff like radiator flush. I replaced the headgasket at 180k. Even then, it was still good. Wasn't blown or showing any sign of wear/tear.
------
So, if you're going to get this car, expect tons of money being spent on maintenance and gas. Don't forget insurance and other BS. I bought my car new, so the registration fee was $380 bones.

Yeah I have been searching around, just finished this thread:

And thanks for your post. I am now looking elsewhere. I'm just not happy spending money on poorly engineered cars that don't last. Which is a shame because I absolutely love the G35 coupe. Oh well, the dream was fun while it lasted.
Also, you can't get tires that'll last 30-40k? I don't care about grip much I'm not going to be driving this like crazy. I want the car for the body, but new tires every year NO THANKS heh!
What about the IS250? I love the body of that car too.
TBH if I could dump a Toyota or Honda engine in one of these I would be happy to call it a day. I haven't driven a powerful car yet so I'm not spoiled. Only reason I was going to spend > $5k on a car was for looks.

So you have a special G that has perfect alignment? Because every other G out there so far has alignment problems. Meaning the tires wear out unevenly. Driving on bad tires in the winter isn't safe.

you can def get some for 20k, the 2006.
I would consider that just MAYBE if it is reliable. The difference between 15 and 20 is not that much to me, it's something I would consider...maybe.
Reliable though? I don't know...
I really really don't want to drive a Camry or Accord. Something with ***** in the body.
