My cousin once left his truck in 4th with not enough e-brake, and it rolled back into a gas pump...

I always leave my car in 1st w/ e-brake. That is how I was taught, so by nature I always move the shifter into neutral before letting the clutch out.

I used to always leave my car in neutral, but I've been leaving it in 1st or reverse lately...

Neutral and no e brake, just use blocks.

I put it in neutral and use the e-brake. This is of course on my other 6M/T ride.

For some reason my ebrake cable gets loose very often, so I always leave it in first. I only put the ebrake on if I'm on the hill, otherwise, just leave it in first.

1st or reverse for me along with e-brake. The steeper the gear, the hard it is to roll. So reverse would actually hold tighter than 1st.

If you put it in 5th or 6th, you could prob push the car and turn the engine over. Gear reduction works the opposite way whenmyou drive the engine with the wheels.
