Question Do you use premium fuel?

I searched for this for a long time and couldn't find any info. I purchased a 04 G35 with an auto trans last week and have been fueling with premium fuel as recommended. My question is how many of you use only premium fuel and will using midgrade or 87 damage the car in anyway? I'm not new to performance vehicles as I also own a sportbike and a Grandprix but every vehicle is different.

It's probably been discussed to the point of boredom.

I just use what's recommended, premium. Why not?
Using 87 or 89 isn't saving you a great deal of money and your ECU will retard the timing to compensate for the lower octane rating when it senses it higher in the RPM range. It won't damage the car, but you'll have less power in the higher band and won't gain any MPG.

If your car is recommended to run 87, running 93 isn't helping it. But if it's recommended to run premium, why not?

I use premium. I can feel the difference between 87 and 91 (California) octane. You bought a luxury performance car. \ Feed it what it wants and it will reward you.

Not this shlt again. If you can't afford to put the recommended fuel, you bought the wrong car. You probably don't have full coverage either right?

I hope Jibbs is insured for uninsured motorist. According to him, nobody has insurance.. or spacers.

@jibb I did a search and nothing popped up. I got hits for fuel related issues and all sorts of premium this and that. I never said I could not afford it and yes I have full insurance on this car my two other ones and my motorcycle so money is not the issue. To everyone else thanks for the responses, it's greatly appreciated.

I searched premium gas and came up with these before I just got tired of opening them and linking them:

https://g35driver.com/forums/g-spot/...d-premium.html
https://g35driver.com/forums/g-spot/...o-you-use.html
https://g35driver.com/forums/g-spot/...mend-g35x.html

there are a bunch others if you already don't get the hint that you should listen to the manual, the gas cap, us...

You can't go cheap with a luxury car.. It's only a matter of 50 cents more for premium.. So why not go for it?

Premium, yes of course. $50 every two weeks isn't too bad to keep my car running at its best.

Nope (7 miles) and the bf always wants to drive his car, which I won't argue with. More money in my pocket! Although we're taking the G down to Orlando on Wednesday since I can't drive his car.
