Navigation Screen Faded when cold then brightens when warm?

My navi screen sometimes is very faded when cold in the morning and I first start the car...then as I drive and get everything warmed up it seems to brighten up...sometimes it takes 2 minutes and sometimes 20-30...

Is this normal in the colder climates (been 10 degrees here at night)

Yes, that's normal. But I think 20-30 minutes is way too long. Mine just takes a couple of minutes.

You know what LCD stands for right?

All LCDs slow down and fade when it's cold...

Cold weather causes electrical components to slow down. It's electrical resistance, as the electricity flows over time it will start to heat up and reach it's normal temp. So give it some time to warm up then try it out. I lived in Montana for some years and it would get in the negatives and everything electrical would noticeably slow down. Plus I just got out of electricity in my automotive school so the symptoms seem normal.
