What do you hate about YOUR G35?
geez you guys are fanboys....i didn't buy my car from straight line speed and I certainly wouldn't buy a TL/CL/Accord for that reason, but the topic of power was being discussed..why you gotta be such a douche about it, sorry for telling the truth about your car
and how exactly is saying that g35 have comparable acceleration to CLs and TL being a honda fanboy, i could say the same thing about maximas and 3.5 altimas being as fast or faster then g35s

I think the G is the fastest V6 on the market, only other car thats close is the camaro V6 which i can easily smoke, now that mustang whiped out the new 305hp V6 ill have to find one to run. All in all we have a pretty decent car minus the weight! if our cars were as light as most other "sports" cars we would have some badass rides.
2011 GT500
2011 Camaro SS
2011 C6 Corvette
2011 Challenger SRT
2011 Jeep SRT8
There's 6 cars right there off the showroom floor under 70k that will spank the G.

But then again, you would be wrong. I have had lots of max's and altima's try, but with no avail. Just b/c they have CLOSE to the same engine doesn't mean they are just as fast. Not being douche, sry but you are not telling the truth. The g is a fast car no matter how you slice it. I have taken every mustang gt I have tried, even took a stang cobra, proly cause it was a convertible (extra weight). The only cars that have beaten my g and very close at that were a GTO, and a Porsche 911 Turbo. I had a AMG CLK 35 come close, but we were just about equally matched, until you involve the driver, this is why I won. Of course it isn't a ZR1 Vette, or a Lambo, or Ferrari, but the G will hang just about anything that isn't over $70k. For the price the G/Z is one of teh best deal out there.
I can promise you would not touch a Cobra, unless the driver missed a gear or probably didnt even know you were racing. You are just like one of those annyoing fvcking high schoolers that feels the need to rev his *** econo box crap at the red light, when you are sitting next to a mini van.
The G35 cannot "hang" with any real sports car above 40k. 280 hp is NOTHING, especially in a heavy car like the G35. I cant believe you think you are in the same catagory as a GTO, Vette, or 911 turbo....really?

I guess the thing I hate the most about G35s, is the fact they are so cheap now and you get all the dumb tools driving them. Every single 16 year old can now get a G35, throw some ebay rims on it and X02 exhaust and rev up and down the street, you know really flex all 280hp of raw power.
I have been on driver for over 6 years now. I have seen the G35 degrade from a luxury sports coupe to nothing more than the next civic.

This argument has turned so LITERAL. For fvck's sake. The G is a relatively quick car for the price. All the cars you listed scrapiron7 are YES under 70k.... but also not even close to being in the same price bracket as the G. G3LU5, I'll have to admit I support your argument, however you were exaggerating a bit. Plus, I wouldn't compare it to any of the cars stated in the last few posts anyway... seeing as how this IS a V6 car. And yeah, the new Camaro V6 and the Mustang V6s are pretty badass. The 2011 Mustang runs 0-60 in 5.1 while getting 31 mpg with the V6. Yeah, I'd say that spanks our cars. Most definitely. However, this car, compared to other rides of its time, is a very impressive car for it's price. Especially when you consider the amount of mixed luxury and power. If you ask me, I say the sedans are more impressive than the coupes. Because the G35 coupe is considered a slow small attempt at a sport coupe.... but the Sedan is considered a pretty quick little 4-door with plenty of room and comfort to boot. (obviously that is a very opinionated statement... but still valid all the same)
Nowadays.. the G coupes and sedans are much faster, more efficient, more elegant, and the interior isn't even comparable to the years like mine. It's in an entirely different class now with the 37s if you ask me

Even the old 95 Cobras still had 305 hp/300 tq and weighed less than a G35. Stock they could still get high 13s in the 1/4 mile. In 03 when they got a superchager, there would be no chance.
You might want to check some of the "Local Ricer" threads and "Ugly G35" threads.
I think you need to rework your definition of "fast".
Once you can show me a timeslip in the 12's or less, I'll tell you your car is "fast".
A stock G or one with some minor bolt ons is not fast from the definition that most performance-minded and experienced people would use.

if your comparing 2011 cars, might as well compare it to a 2011 g37.
The G37 is only slightly faster. It is a luxury car, not a sports car. Plus a G37 runs 40k, you can easily find many cars faster for that price.
