Leather Ripping!

Hey Guys,
I just noticed that the leather on the side of my drivers seat side bolster has a small tear where it meets a pretty rigid piece of plastic (towards the backrest of the seat on the outside of the bolster closer to the door). I called Inifinit and hope that this is a warranty item since it looks like its caused by this hard piece of palstic that is under the leather. My car is a 2006 with only 4300 miles and this is happening already?????
This should be a warranty item, correct? Never had this problem on my 2K Maxima or 2K2 //M3.

Take it to your dealer. If it's obviously coming from underneath causing the tear, then yes it will be a warranty item.

My 05 has the same issue. There is a TSB on this. I do not understand why Infiniti does not fix these issues from year to year. For example the seats were issues in 05 & 06, The rear axle ticking from 03-05, & the tire issues from 05-06. I love my G, but infiniti corporate needs to fix these dame issues from year to year. They have records of all the problems { TSB } so fix them for the prior year. So far I have had the rear axle fixed. This Wed. I am having them fix the seat clicking/rocking noise, seat tear, & engine ticking caused by the fuel damper. Still love my G & love Infiniti service, But the Corporate offices need to step it up.

Yes and take it fast, i took my G for the exact same reason, and since my Infiniti has 55K miles on it, Infiniti dealer said they would not cover it even thought it was an item that was covered under warranty, so i was like WTF if its covered, that means its covered no matter what the mileage is as long as its under warranty correct??

I have been very dissapointed with the quality of the leather!! I too have a 06, and I have tons of wrinkles and a big scuff mark!!! You would not see that in a Benz or BMW. Kobe beef is good, Kobe hide not so much; and to hell with Kobe Bryant.

Yes, take it it fast mine ripped at 50k and they wouldn't replace mine either. That was the first time I was disappointed at the infiniti service.

I had the whole bottom leather seat piece replaced under warranty...infinity has terrible foam. the foam is too soft and smashes down over time, then it cant support the leather = tearing. Go to the dealership

Yes; There is a TSB rear axle ticking that they will fix. Make shore they replace the BOLTS, and not just lube and tighten which is a temporary fix.

It will be OK for 3-5K mi. OR even 10K if you drive the car very easy. I would just print out the TSB for rear axle and bring it to the dealer. Tell them you want the new bolts/parts for rear as it indicates in the TSB. The reason they tighten { I think } is due to the parts being back ordered. It took my dealer a month to get the new bolts for my G. It has been 7K mi. since and no more ticking. Good Luck....

Nissan & Infiniti quality control........?

Ok lets discuss quality.....'06 RevUP oil usage (probably oil rings) '04 Brake
pads (no excuse) just damn poor quality same year gas filler hose again
just poor quality (cracks) I'm not sure if Honda has these kinda quality issues.
You would think these cars were built in Korea not Japan with some of the
problems they keep having year after year........let's fire the CEO!
