Should I stay away? Its a 2004 coupe, auto with only 14,000miles. There asking $20,000. What can go wrong with a car that has a slavage title?

 

I would never buy a car that has a salvage title, but I am no expert.

but, insurance companies will sometimes slap a salvage title to a car that has been stolen just for a joy ride..

to the OP, just look at the car and check where it has been painted. look closely to like the windows, doors, hood, etc..

 

That's an attractive price, but here are a couple things to consider:

1. Any warranty left on it is completely VOID. No 60K powertrain, no 3/36K.

2. Why does it have salvate title? How bad was the accident? Typically insurance companies will total a car if it would cost more to fix than the value of the car. Than some third party company or bodyshop may fix it up so it looks presentable. But, how good was the repair? What is the quality of the replacement parts?

3. If and when you decide to sell this car, you will have an extremely hard time doing so with a branded title.

Not saying absolutely no, but do your homework before taking the plunge.

 

Stay away. The price is not worth the possible problems.

only 5,000 more and you have yourself a decent G35

 

Salvage title should be 50-60% of the cars PPV, so $20k is way too much, I'd take it for $12-13k but thats about it, plus I'd make sure to have a trusted mechanic check it out.

 

"We have a 2004 Infiniti G35 with only 15,000 original miles!!! The car is pearl white with tan interior. It has the premium aero package and is near perfect. This vehicle does have a rebuilt title, but do not let that fool you, this car drives like new! Come in and chek it out today! Asking 19,998!"

What potental problems can I run in to? Its says its a REBUILT TITLE

 

Don't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Any savings that you might get off of the price would be negated by the potential risk of something going wrong and mostly due to the terrible resale value of the thing if you go to sell it in a few years.

 

dont even touch it man, we G owners with clear titles have enough problems with rattling, alingment issues, premature brake wear, ect...i cant even imagine what possible problems this salvage car can have...

 

$20k is waaaaaay too much. That's just a little bit less than the normal price for a used G35 with a clean title.

 

i don't think that price is slavage title car. Slavage title car usually is dirt cheap.

 

sorry to thread jack, but how long did your brakes last you? do you have Brembos? my 2006 coupe started squealing a bit a 12,000. lemme know please!

no 20k is too much, maybe 15-17k
