Just Went to the dealer for 07 coupe

Hey Guys wats up, I am looking to lease a G coupe and i went to a dealer in NJ and he gave me some price and i wanted to know if this sounds like a good deal and if i should take it.
2007 G coupe, Base Model+Sunroof
MSRP: $ 35,400

Selling Price: $32,900 ( he was willing to go down few hundred dollars) w/o taxes and other fees, about $4500 initial payment that includes ~$2000 down and TTL+1st month pay.

Therefore, $296 per month for 15 months and 15,000 miles per year.

Please let me know if this sounds reasonable and if i should go tomorro and bring that babe home. Thanks in advance for the input.

Is 296 include the sales tax? what are the fees excatly? it dont add up tp 2.5k for the normal leasing fees ... acquisition fees of 795(on the high side), Title/DMV fee of 400 (high side as well) plus first payment of 296 is 1491 so where did they apply that other 1k to? sales tax on that down payment of 2k? assume of 8% sales tax, its only 160...find out what is the residual and M/F as well.

And its about 400 above inovice which it isnt bad in mornal year but its last year model after all so I do expecting bit more discount even this early in the model year.

Does not make sense to lease for a year...you are throwing away your money. Wait for the 2008 Coupe and lease for at least 36months

I was quoted
MRSP: $ 35,400
for 07 coupe 6MT fully loaded (navi and everything else included)

so you might be able to get a better deal, just shop around.
I'm in CA

but uh just wait till 08 Coupe comes out. If you don't like it, you might be
able to get super deal on 07 coupes lol

Should've leased mine so i don't have to deal with the pain of selling it, and take about $10k hit in 1.5 years of ownage.

resell value's very bad for the G now.

Research on www.leasecompare.com. The site doesn't factor in tax though. A lot factors go into leases and it's the easiest way a dealer can rape someone.

Thankx for the input, everyone of you guys. I am still looking around. BTW, the amount for down payment is about $2700-2800 and i guess all the fees that you mentioned for the TTL it should come upto $4k. And the $296/month is w/o sales tax.

I want to ask you, the residual value given by the dealer should be the amount after i paid all the money in 1.5 years rite. Also I only pay sales tax for 1.5 months for that amount of money rite???

Well any suggestion would be helpful. I want to be a pround owner by April 1st, 2007. AND I DONT LIKE THE NEW MODEL, so i am going with this i guess with intention to buy it later on.

The residual is calculated from the MSRP not sale price of the car, so it is not part of principal that you pay but you do pay the interest on it and yes you only paying sales tax on the payment not on entire selling price of the car like if you were buying it.

When comes to a lease, the selling price be come secondary when judging how well is your deal, especially in short terms, the residual value and money factor(interest rate) will affect your payments more, resduals will/might change from month to month, lenders to lenders as well your locations...like last year's 12 months leasing special, its has residual of 82~84% rather than normal residual of 78~ish%, on MSRP of 35k the difference is about 120~180/mos

This is why I don't lease, too much hassle and chance of getting raped (it seems).
