Re: japanese turbo/supercharger

this maybe a stupid question but do you think that a turbo or supercharger will be cheaper overseas like in japan or korea

Re: japanese turbo/supercharger

A TT setup will cost you about 7-8K + install (18 hours or so - i guess about $1500). Look at 10k+ with the right tuning (via a good ECU flash - like TS).

JDM spec kits will NOT fit the US-spec cars. So just wait for them to come out here. I am about 80% sure that the only TT kits that you will see here will be Greddy, PE (my favorite) or TS (TopSecret), although the last one is always much, much more expensive (~10-11K for the kit alon - I am estimating).

Re: japanese turbo/supercharger

why won't a JDM spec kit fit on a US-spec car? I thought the G35coupe and V35coupe are identical. The only difference is what side you drive on.

Re: japanese turbo/supercharger

if the only thing is wrong is the ecu then we can just reprogram it

Re: japanese turbo/supercharger

I don't even think the ECU is different. The only thing I can think of is no cats? I don't know if it's still true that engines need to be replaced after 50k miles?

Re: japanese turbo/supercharger

I know for a fact that when TS was hired to do the US spec fitment (which in itself tells you that it does not fit) by PE, they had to remake (as far as I know) the piping as well as, most importantly, the manifolds (which they may have done from scratch - I am not sure).

There seem to be more then very subtle differences in the specs, one surely being the driver's side - here are steering columns to consider (which is pretty close to the exhaust manifolds).
