I don't regret getting auto. I jut wish that auto would be a little more responsive . Technology is out there I don't understand why not do it.
I like auto cuz of the feel of technologically advanced vehicle and equipment.

Manual FTW though (for now)

my first car was a manual. second an auto. decided that since i was gettin a new sports car it wouold look retarded if it were anything but a manual. went with my first inclination and..... have regretted it ever since. i'm never going stick shift again unless of course i purchase a ferrari or some other vehicle of that stature.

with tiptronic 3.4 sec.

I drove my first car which was an auto for 5 years and made sure my G was 6speed eventhough i was only a novice at driving manual. Never regretted that decision. Even in the worst traffic days where my left foot may be tired from the clutch, no pain no gain!! I personally think it sounds better when shifting with the pause in the exhaust note rather than the almost linear note on an auto.

I had same debate when i bought my first manual at 20. It was a mustang GT and most ppl tried to talk me out of it because they said I will get sick of it in traffic. I look at it this way, if I'm stuck in traffic, I'm gonna be pissed off anyways so no need to sacrifice the fun. I'm on 2nd G coupe as well and both have been manual. I drove from Detroit to Ft. Wayne to get a manual and thank God I did.

Bought my 04 G coupe with 5AT a month ago with 30K miles on it and I def. regret not getting a manual even though I never learned manual. Its my daily driver from Brooklyn to New Jersey and I put around 90 miles per day on it, there's lots of traffic, lots of a-holes, if I had a manual, I would sure intimidate the hell out of them. Plus I'm more into performance and already got the modding bug, but 5 speed auto just feels very unresponsive to me, even in manual mode. My previous FWD 05 Maxima auto pulled and changed gears much better. (Should I got to a stealership and get it checked out?) It seems like the G was engineered more for the manual tranny, but hey, at least I'll have less traffic tickets than 6MT guys

MT are for 300hp cars. Which is great for ours, because they are 300 hp.

You put boost in it. You're going to be one happy AT guy.

You don't loose boost when your car shifts-- It's amazing

Help w/ Final Decision!

sorry i hope im not jacking this thread, but in about two weeks or so (after the 15th of August) im going to get a G coupe but my mind is just being torn apart on the decision of getting either AT or MT. im a car enthusiast and have been learning MT on my friend's 240SX(and oh it felt so good shifting once i got the hang of it). even though im a noob MT driver i know that with time i should get used to the G tranny. most of my driving will be highway driving to college, but im just torn between the two. any input would be appreciated from ur experience with the MT.
