My Window Ate a Flyer!

I had pushed down the auto down window on my driver's side when I noticed a small little flyer was caught up and going down into my door along with it. Too late! I reversed and pulled the window back up but the flyer went down into my door. Wondering if this will affect my window long term. Any way I can get that flyer out of my door? Now I am really bothered that I have a flyer in my door that I can't get out. ARGH!

It's no big deal to get the inside door liner off to fish out the flyer.
Or you could go into the shop for the grease streak fix, or maybe a regulator adjustment etc, etc.....................

Actually, if the flier was on the outside of the window then it won't be that easy to get out. If you take the door panel off you will notice that you cannot get to where the window is. The inner door (where the window is) is completely sealed! It is possible to take the door completely apart and get to the window, but, imho I wouldn't waste my time for a little flier!

Don't worry. I Have one too. I open the door are reached for the flyer at the same time and the flyer dropped down. Next time, I'll get the flyer out first.

Can you find out who put the flier on your car? Tell them what happened and that they are responsible for getting it out. Get a quote from the dealer to have it removed. Take them to small claims court if necessary.

Re: My Window Ate a Flyer!

The same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago and now my window seems to get stuck once in a while. At first i thought i blew a fuse but then i tried pushing the window down as i pressed the down button and it went down. I'm thinking that the flyer is stuck in between something. I'll prolly have to bring it in the shop or try taking it out myself. Damn flyers!!!

Re: My Window Ate a Flyer!

That sucks! One more thing to look out for I guess.
I would try to get that flyer out ASAP. Our coupe seem to retain a lot of water in the doors after rain, car wash, etc. (notice the water streaks after rolling down the window after those situations). I don't think having a wet piece of paper in there for prolonged period of time is good.
Damn, putting flyers on people's car windows should be outlawed!!

Re: My Window Ate a Flyer!

How the hell are you guys getting flyers stuck in your windows?? Don't you pull it off before you open the door to get in? Even if it's on the passenger window, just walk your lazy *** over and rip it off :P

Yeah I thought it was standard procedure to:
A: See flier on beautiful car and get pissed
B: Take said flier off of car and dispose of it properly (Just remember, somebody else's name/info is on it, how funny would it be if they got a littering ticket for putting a flier on your car!)
C: Drive away in beautiful car

Re: My Window Ate a Flyer!

A friend told me that there is a drainage hole in the door where all the water drains off to. He said I can simply wait until the flyer rots and disintegrates and comes out the drainage hole. The other possibility is that it disintegrates and blocks up the drainage hole and causes a catastrophe. Better ask the dealership on what I should do. Thanks for the advice.
