For my G, I want to add a MD 5/16" plenum spacer, a ztube, OEM Revup airbox, and a K&N drop in filter or AMSOIL filter.
I have a 2003 Black Obsidian G35 Coupe 5AT, and these are some of the modifications that I want to add soon. Would you recommend this setup as a starting point? Also, I don't wan't to go to far into modifcations such as adding in FI or anything over the next few years.
So what are your thoughts and what else would you recommend I do. My budget isn't really too high right now so what else should I add for under 750$. I know thats not too much to work with at the moment but I'm going to be saving up over the next few months.

Thank you, I appreciate any help that you guys give.

I was right where you are about a year ago. But you posted in the right thread, I was kind of posting all over the place, hence this thread lol. But I also have an 03 5AT and I love it. I got bit by the mod bug so much that after I did things without research and ended up getting screwed. I payed over $800 for a shop to install and cold air intake only to fidn out it is one of the riskiest and useless things to do. I did the plenum spacer and resonating testpipes, and after that I decided to run a 75 shot of nitrous on a NX system. Very fun, but used in moderation, when I want to catch my buddy in his is300 turbo tuned to 390 hp. Like everyone said this forum has TONS of information, but I have had the most fun with going to G meets and talking to the guys one on one. Now I'm doing my wheels and and suspension. Good luck

Not gonna lie I'm a noob. I have a 1/2 thermal spacer by Motordyne and a oem z tube with a pop charge filter on the way. What are some good bolt on mods that I should look into next? I've been look at art pipes, injectors, uprev tuner.

bigger injectors arent needed unless you go F/I... ART pipes are a nice gain for the money.... mrev(if you have rev up), then a tune(dyno tune.....e-tunes are garbage)

Unfortunately I don't have the rev up motor just a plain 06 5AT g35 coupe. I read the thread at tony from Motordyne post a few years ago about the art pipes. The low rpm hp/tq gain would be great. I've also looked on the FS thread look at parts ppl put on their cars just so I do a little research and I found PMAS HPX MAF sensor. But I can't find any threads that explain what these aftermarket MAF sensors do for are g35

Aftermarket MAF's are for FI builds, you do not need them for merely bolt-ons.

Installed 1/2" thermal kit today and I must say the throttle Response is better. Not much of a difference in the sound but she'll get sideways pulling third in manual shift mode. LOVE IT!!!

I'd like to jump in and say I'm in a similar situation. I bought 04 6mt DG Coupe in mid March and love it so far! Just finding a good condition one with a clean history/black interior/6mt was difficult, and I had to have mine shipped from NY.
As this is a daily driver and heavy commuter car, the only mods I've done have been tint, wheels/tires, dark surrounding headlight tint(to get rid of the yellowing plastic), smoked side markers, a couple led light replacements, and a new Z-tube just last week. Roads in VA/MD are terrible, especially near my work in Baltimore so I don't plan on lowering it(plus I dislike lowered cars). I've also driven 14k+ miles in 4.5 months so no hardcore mods are in the future and I think I'm pretty much done. Maybe a painted front lip or a jump back to lighter Ray 19's, but otherwise just maintenance items are in the future.

Or an upgrade to an 07 or G37

It's not a bolt on but I wouldn't spend another penny until I got a transgo to help tighten the shifting. Night and day difference. Best mod I ever did to the AT.

I've looked into the VB upgrade yesterday but I also heard that with the Osiris tuner program you can adjust the 5AT. I also found a DIY project someone posted on here. Guy did a nice write up, do you have any pros and cons about the VB upgrade you done. Stillen also has a VB upgrade which they offer
