Hi Guys, I'm from New Zealand, I have a japanese badged Skyline 350GT just arrived and I'm wanting a couple of easy mods just to start the ball rolling. Was going to put an aftermarket panel filter in, but Ive been seeing alot of reference to the Ztube? Is this an easy install with good results? I am interested in getting one, but not sure where to start. Will I still need to get the panel filter to go in behind it anyway? If so I will start with that and try and work out how to get a Z tube into NZ! Sorry to rant, looking forward to getting involved here!
Cheers

Welcome! A Z tube is basically just a 350Z intake. The G35's has a couple baffles, or areas to quiet down the intake noise, whereas the Z Tube is fairly straight and basically just a straight tube from the filter box into the throttle body. It's pretty easy to install, open up the filter box, put in a better k/n filter or likewise, then a couple of clamps and exchange the pipe for a z tube. Reviews/results showed around 5hp difference, but it's mainly for the sound. I believe I gained maybe 1 mpg if that, as well. It's a nice and cheap first mod as you can instantly hear the difference under WOT.

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the welcome! I have the K & N going in today, then I need to source a z tube. Anyone got any ideas of a good retailer that will ship to New Zealand?
Thanks again

Check z1. They might. Shipping will probably be more than the tube though. Their aluminum one is better than the oem plastic one. Disregard any heatsoak comments made about the metal tube. They are false

Had the car for about 2 months, it is completely stock, but not for long. Just picked up a RJM Performance clutch pedal and TWM shortshifter with ****, and Motordyne copper iso thermal plenum spacer to get me started. Maybe an intake next??

Work over your suspension. lots of weak points here that will make a world of difference in the overall enjoyment of driving your new car. Replace LCA bushings with poly, replace the compression rod bushings with something other than stock, poly differential bushing, get some springs and shocks/struts (or better yet coilovers), eccentric toe bolts and camber kit for the rear, adjustable upper control arms up front, wheel spacers, etc. And if you have any money left, get some sways with poly bushings. don't cheap out on parts either.
