Handling mods in the order of importance:
Tires, shocks/struts, and sway bars. Springs aren't always a good mod for handling.

You need traction to have any kind of performance. Since your tires are the only part of your car touching the road, your tires dictate how much traction is possible, and that's why ties are always the most important mod for either handling or acceleration. And if you are thinking about arguing this, answer this first - what happens to your car's performance when you lose traction?

Struts and shocks are what holds your wheels to the road, so they are the next most important mod as better struts and socks will give you more traction by actually putting those nice, sticky tires to work, utilizing the more of the tire's potential.

Sways are next because, in a sense, they help distribute traction in the turns.

Springs can be a good or bad thing for many reasons, but they aren't as much of an important factor because while they help hold the car up, their job is to transfer road feel to the driver. Lowering springs may feel like they help eliminate roll and all that bad stuff by lowering the center of gravity, but it will also shift the center of gravity to one side of the car, which is obviously a bad thing if you plan on turning both directions.

I think he's trying to say soft springs suck.... I'd still take upgraded sways with oem tires over stickier tires with understeer. And I think 9/10 would agree

Thumbs up Power Adders

There are things you can do to add horsepower to your "G" such as. You can add an intake, catback exhaust system, HFC's, headers (although some people say adding them isn't worth the headache) I beg to differ. You can add a plenum spacer a throttle body from NWP, port and polish the heads, cams (264 intake and exhaust), better pistons, connecting rods, stroker kits, 1MM over sides valves, do a tune, the list goes on and on but first you should ask yourself what you plan on doing with the car with its new found performance, such as dragstrip (these aren't quarter mile cars), road coarse or just to give it a few extra horses. Once you figure out what your goal is then you can figure out the best route to get there. Good luck. Brooks out.

Damn nice LR Coupe!

Welcome to Driver! To answer your question begin by reading all the stickys at the top of the coupe page. Here's your list...
Stillen z-tube/intake (not effected by heat) This intake is 50 state legal.
Motordyne 5/16" Plenum Spacer this corrects Nissan's design flaw.
High Flow Cats (Fast Intentions) Most of the restriction is in your OE cats.
True Dual cat back exhaust. Don't waste your $ on the single y-back system! (poor results)
Osiris Tune - This will net you at least another 25 whp and close to 20 lbs torque.
You can find a lot of these items on our Marketplace under Private Classified used at a decent price! Enjoy the ride!

Plenum spacer, cams, long tube headers, hfc and a tune will yield the most hp/$
