Like I said I run 20/25 I wish I woulda done 25/30 to make it just a little more flush
With that though I'll need a fender roll With my 20/25 I don't OEM rays look VERY good with either combo imo

 

Anyone run the infiniti akebono upgrade? What's needed? They recommend longer banjo bolts.

So i recently just bought an 04' G35 sport coupe 6MT with 60k miles on it and its getting time to do an

oil change... and i have absolutley no idea what kind of oil the previous owner used. what kind of oil do

you guys use on your G's? would it hurt to run full synthetic after its been using regular oil its whole

previous life (if it has been). Or would i be able to take it to an oil change place and have the mechanic

know what was in there while draining the old oil?

Castrol would be the brand. If you are on the low mark, before filling, I would check your pads. They may be at the end of their life and need changed. That's usually the culprit(doubt you are losing fluid). And letting them get that low has a good chance at triggering your ABS/slip lights

 

25mm is basically flush all around on rays with stock suspension. I'd post pics but this mobile app sucks ***** and crashes every time you try to post a pic

 

Use whatever you trust. Its not gonna hurt it. I use Castrol high mileage 5/30 synthetic blend. I used to use conventional 20/50 for the first few years of ownership. Your oil type has more to do with the environment in which you drive rather than other peoples suggestions. The colder the climate, the thinner the oil that should be used. Some exceptions can be made when using synthetic or synthetic blends. There are plenty of threads on oil.

so im new to the car world.. so with a completely 04' g35 stock engine and since the fuel injectors are sequential, i was wondering if you can just buy any type of injector? or does it have to be a specific type of injector and a specific cc to go with the engine? and lastly, what kind of gain do you get with upgraded fuel injectors?

@stillen06coupe, but even with the pads being low, can i still add clutch fluid in the reservoir without hurting my car? cause im definitely not leaking any fluid. and the SLIP light only comes on when im having a lil fun

Huh? No way. 15/40 is like diesel oil.

Just get a 5w30 synthetic blend. You'll have the best of all worlds.

He's right, 5w30 is what our engines were designed to run, so you should use that. But synthetic blend vs full synthetic is really your personal choice.

IMO, if the car doesn't have too many miles on it (or if the car has been using full synthetic for some time), you should go with a full synthetic because of the extra cleaning additives in the oil, but that reccomendation is only based on personal preference. There are TONS of debates on full synthetic vs synthetic blend. Not so much conventional oil anymore, I haven't seen that on store shelves for a while.
