Is rotella T 5w-40 reasonable in the G rather than mobil1 5w-30?

Rotella T was originally designed for heavy duty diesel engines in semis, tanks, etc. I don't think I'd use it in the G. Diesels have a tendency to run a bit cooler than an internal combustion engine. (If you idle a diesel it will actually cool down, where other motors may tend to over heat) I'd think it might be more susceptible to break down.

John - I'd rather not see you run Rotella in your G. I work for Shell ( Rotella's one of our brands ) & Carnut's right. Rotella is designed more for industrial engines. Nothing wrong with Mobil 1, Redline or Royal Purple ( my personal choice ) if U're considering a synthetic.
