Re: Maturity in this forum.

"Hey moron, when you lease a car... how much are you actually paying? I never said we bought the car... I actually saved my parents money by going with the STi, so keep your dumb, uninformed comments to yourself"

This is why this forum is going to ****. With people like you making stupid comments. Grow up and let it go.

Re: Maturity in this forum.

My daughter will get an 11 year old POS Detroit car when she turns 17, just like me. And love it.

She'll join the military to finish paying for school if she can't do it the first time when I'm paying for it. And love it.

And she can have her husband buy her the car of her dreams when she's an old woman like Neff.

Re: Maturity in this forum.

Boggie you are very well spoken for a 17yr old, and agreed with everything you said. G35Fanatic, you crashed your Sti and just got it LOL and to this guy!!

"Let me just say that yes, I do get a little frustrated when I see someone driving a car as beautiful as a G when they have not earned it. Most people that have items as expensive as a car handed to them on a platter become very snobby towards other owners, why do you ask, because since they didn't have to spend a dime on their cars they can afford to hook it up crazy with 20" rims, systems, exhausts, etc. If I didn't have to buy my own car, I would thow a twin-turbo kit on the car and whatever else I could, but I have bills to pay, and just can't afford it. Call me immature or what you will, but I don't praise any parent that hands their child expenisve car gifts or $1000 watches, I understand pitching in for a house when they have a family, paying for college, and paying for their wedding, but I car is a privilege, not a right, and I think that parents should buy their children automobiles that are safe and get the child from A to B. Not spend $40,000 on a 280 HP sports car, just so their kids can look cool while driving their friends around to parties. And for all those kids that don't like the opinions of the hard working G drivers on this board, go get some money from your parents and start up you own G35 Board."

Coming from a 19yr old, your ARE very narrow minded and immature for your age to suppose that of any kid driving a car in a price range above $30 or 40k and having a nice car. That's not right how you judge people based on what they drive, "oh he drives a BMW, he's spoiled and didnt work for it. Mommy and Daddy bought it for him and he didnt work for it" Some kids are like that, but the ones i know arent at all including myself. Yes my parents have money and my fathers a doctor, but we are not "rich" like that and my parents always taught me the value of money, i am working for my father to hopefully go into his business if i want to be an optometrist. I have a 3.6 avg. in college and work for every penny and dollar spent and put into my car. My parents help me out with insurance which is more than generous, especially on a car like i have. Just remember everything i have said next time you see a young kid driving a nice car, and dont be so judgemental of them. I also am taking a driving course to lower my insurance to help my parents out and going to a cheap school, a community college. For the most part, i would hope kids younger than me and my age or a little older would try and help out in one way or another for their car, or just anything they need from their parents. But for the spoiled kids, i dont hate them, its just their parents fault for not raising them right, and that's to understand the value of something. And it was almost like you were generalizing all of the younger kids on this forum, hmm.. You honestly need to "check" yourself, you sound just plain ignorant but in a sense i understand where your coming from. I think you shoudl re-read what you typed, its just opinionated and wrong. Re: Maturity in this forum.

The way I see it, if some young kids or old kids parents buy them their G, then good for them. I just hope that they apreciate it, and don't expect it. I come from a wealthy family, but my parents have made me work for every dime. I think the only large gift I have ever gotten from them was my 1986 CRX with 90,000 miles on it when I turned 16. And some new furniture when I bought my first house.

For me, I take pride in knowing that I earn every penny for the toys that I have. Granted, now that I make next to nothing in the Air Force the new '05 G next will be the last of the toys for quite a while with a new house on the way hopefully come Spring time.

The toys are fun, but since I left the wonderful corporate world to pursue my dreams in the Air Force two years ago when I was 28, I don't have the luxury of the extravagant life, but we splurge from time to time!

To me, what is important is that I can provide for my lovely fiancee' and make her happy. Granted, she is the bread winner in the family now, but what can you do?

Life is too short to be bitter!

Re: Maturity in this forum.

ya...thats what i am confused about....why would it matter to ANYONE ELSE if i or anyone else not appreicate what my parents do for me? (not saying that i don't)....i mean...as long as we are respectful to the people in this forum..why would anyone care if we are grateful for what we have?

alot of people in the world are not grateful for what they got....so what..? let it be...and all of you can find some inner peace =)

Re: Maturity in this forum.

i dont take my car for granted at all. I love my car. Everyday, when i open the garage, i still can't believe its mine. God has truly blessed me with generous and gracious parents. I think some of the older people on this forum automatically incorporate young with being ungrateful. This is not the case at all. I agree, I would feel more comfortable buying the car with my own money, but It was a gift. I was not planning on it nor even asked for it. Actually i was hoping to get an RSX. hahaha. Anyways, I think we must meet each other first before we make judgements

Re: Maturity in this forum.

There's always exceptions, and I'm not that much older than you by the way...I have friends like some people on this board that are exactly how I described, just from actual life experience, some of them are still my friends, and yes I'm envious of them, so what, how does it affect you? Why should any of you care what I think of you or your parents spending habits. It's called an opinion, my own personal opinion and while you may not agree with me I'm entitiled to it. I belive that buying your 16 - 18 year old a $40K+ car is spoiling them, I don't care if they have a 4.0 and they are struggling to become a Dr. I'm glad that you are not like many of my peers and work for what you want, and absolutely applaud you, but those that get whatever they want whenever they want get no sympathy in any regard. And I agree with you that I may have responded in haste and gave a very narrow minded opinion, no offense to all you hard workers out there.

Forgot one thing...please don't key my G for talking $hit...

Nah man, i totally agree with your last few lines, but am unsure of this " I have friends like some people on this board that are exactly how I described, just from actual life experience, some of them are still my friends, and yes I'm envious of them, so what, how does it affect you?"
I mean not to start anything new, but that statement was the dumbest, most hypocritical thing ive ever heard, sorry. Your envious of them? Wow man, i feel bad for you, i would never be envious of anyone, i will just work harder to hopefully get to that point and hustle my way there if i have to, its called having goals and heart. And how does it affect us, or me? Well when you complain about these little "rich" kids in their parents expensive cars, how does it affect you in any way? Why should you care like we shouldnt? just wondering =) Martin

Re: Maturity in this forum.

Yes, it is hyprocritical to say that I'm envious of them for having their car handed to them while I had to work my *** for mine, but like the other guy said above, who wouldn't accept a $40K present? I just came into the conversation not thinking it through. As long as you appreciate your car, no matter how you got it, I'm cool with it. I suppose the best solution is to say we all got our G's we all love our G's and we're all here to help eachother. I'll try and keep more of an open mind, before opening my mouth ;-).

Re: Maturity in this forum.

Yo man, honestly its all good, i wasnt trying to get at you in any way to be a dikc, but rather make you more open minded and to read over what you said. I know it was at the heat of the moment and most people dont realize what they say, when people stop and ask me about my car, and what i have done and tell me how nice it is i become overwhelmed with happiness honestly, to have such a great car and to make me realize that i did everythign the rite way on and to my car, its amazing the compliments i get. And guess what, when G35 sedan owners say nice car and start asking me ?'s, i tell them anything and everythign they need to know and tell them to im me or anything if they ever need help, im a cool person but others arent like you said and take everything for granted and not help anyone else, im the total opposite but it only take a few situations for someone for them to start thinking like that. Anyway i dont want to drag this on any longer, have a good night man, im glad i made a difference in your opinions, it makes me happy to hear i spoke up and made a difference, hopefully it gets me far in life. Re: Maturity in this forum.

I really don't care if your parents buy you a house when you turn 16. To give a 16 year old a car with 280 hp is just plain dumb. If you want to get your kid something decent get them a Lexus IS or something.

How a parent can give their kid who has just started driving or driving for a few years a car that they WILL be racing around possibly killing themselves or others is a bad parent.
