I stopped myself from buying 6mt coupe today!

Well I found a red, sunroof areo 6mt coupe that was for sale. I called and had the dealer hold if for 24 hours. I went to the bank got a check to buy it cash. Then I went to the dealer and asked to drive the car. I've sat in several coupe on several occasions, bot for some reason I just could not get comfortable. I lowed the seat all the way, but the only way I could fit was to move my tail forward a bit, making me uncomfortable. Here I was with the check in my wallet and I was like damn, I should be comfortable, but I'm not. What should I do, I've lusted over the coupe for months. But I well be in the car commuting 2 hours a day. The sedan is my plan b car, but I'm put off buy it's handling at the limit, feels to numb to me.

One more thing, after I put the car on hold, the internet sales manager came back and told me the car has 800 miles on it, says it's from delivery (they did get it from another dealer so I don't know what that knownsense is about) and from test drives. After his explanation I asked him to at least throw in a car cover, which he did. Still I don't know what to do, these cars simply to not exist without sunroofs at dealer lots, their always sold units.

Oh, forgot to mention in a twist of irony, I found the 350Z seats were absolutely perfect, I exspected the Gcoupe to be just as comfortable. Problem is, wife forbids me from getting 2 seater (which I agree with).

I had the same wife problem. Last November my wife says "lets go car shopping". Just so happens the big car show is in town. I kept mentioning the 350z and she said no, cause of our son. We get to the car show and see the g35coupe. The answer for both of us. It has 4 seats and to me it's close enough to the 350z. Same day went to infiniti and didn't put the deposit on one of the first set to come in. that was a mistake cause I didn't get my DG. Oh well the BS is just fine and i got a better price.

Maybe just have fun with your sedan for now and wait to see what comes out. Or if anything wait for a more option, more perfected 2004 g35coupe.

If they want MSRP for it, tell them to take a hike. MSRP for a car with 800 miles on it and used as a test-driven car? That's BS. How are you going to feel if 2K miles later you need to replace the tranny?

You'll learn to get comfy!

Seriously, the seat will break in some, you'll have a little more headroom with the sunshade open, play with the seat adjustments a little more, etc. I'm 6'1 250lbs, broad shoulders, etc and I'm comfortable....

Go buy the 350Z, tell the wife the dealer told you a rumbleseat accessory is coming on backorder.

By the time she busts your story, the Z'll be in your garage, and she'll enjoy driving it too much to care that you lied!

Re: I stopped myself from buying 6mt coupe today!

I've got the same issue with the seat but realized I only noticed the seat tightness when I was just sitting there. When I'm driving, I don't notice any discomfort (too busy hanging on !!). I seem to be in the middle of not large enough to be more on top of the thigh bolsters and not skinny enough to fit inside them. I suspect when the car arrives with the desired color and specs, once again, I won't notice it.

I too feel the seats in the Z fits me perfect, but not the same in the G which is the one I want. I think the seat in the Z has a longer bottom cushion and maybe wider.
