Another lost G Coupe...
Lol. Most ppl say 370Z. That was on my list but I could never have a true 2 seater car. Even more so now with my fiancé potentially being a preggar! So I definitely need a backseat. The G37's isn't too bad for car seats but I have now added the sedan to my list.
And you're right G, that nismo gray or whatever is my favorite color. I was going to paint my G a very similar color before all this happened. Oddly enough I pass a Nissan dealership where they have it parked on the curb everyday. 38K I think.
Alright... now I'm between a rock and a hard place. I'm torn between 2 replacement options. For starters I searched countrywide for a G37S coupe or a regular G37 coupe for that matter. Had close to 20 choices in my price range, ALL of them have either been sold or have some kind of rebuilt title.
So with that I moved on to my 2nd choice, Hyundai Gen coupe 3.8 Premium version. Only found 1 in the country down in FL that had everything I wanted and the right mileage and price. Then I remembered I had fallen in love with a very well built G35 coupe owned by a fellow member on here. Low mileage, excellent price, super charged, rebuilt engine done the right way. I hit him up and the cars still for sale so I'm excited and figure its the best move since I bought my last G to ride until the wheels fell off then rebuild and super charge and do it all again. He has done an excellent job with the work and it only makes sense right...
Then my fiance says "What about that car from Need for Speed that you have always loved?" E46 M3 Coupe, the holy grail of sex and performance, at least in my world. It's the reason I got into cars. I thought I could never afford 1 but then I remembered I always checked in a 200 mile radius when I searched for it. This time I check nationwide and BOOM 7 contenders. 2 hard tops which I prefer and 5 verts. I call around and eliminate 5. I'm down to 2, 1 hard top Silver SMG 65K miles with the infamous SMG pump just replaced ($4000) and full 60K mile service. 2nd is a Silver Vert manual 60K miles very clean as well.
Now I'm torn. Get an M3 the car of my AFFORDABLE dreams that I will love for it's sexyness, performance and all around baller appeal. While dealing with potentially another German headache with ridiculously high maintenance cost and gremlins. Or go with a well built G coupe (my 3rd for those of you keeping score) that will essentially save me close to $10K in a built engine and super charger that I was on my way doing within the next 3-5 years anyway. All I would have to do is my cosmetic changes, drop, wheels, bodykit, paint then throw in a sound system. But the same can be said for the M3 with bolt ons and tune added to the list.
HELP!!!

Dude, follow you're dreams.
I too was debating between one car and another. I'm glad I chose with my heart, cuz I woulda cried every time I saw the other car. Just take your time to find the RIGHT car (a good condition one).
And be thankful you're OK from this wreck. I lost two friends in separate accidents... enjoy and GL!

Damn bro, I know exactly how you feel, and its not pleasant at all. Just remember at the end of the day its just a car that's made out of metal, your life was at risk and most important is that your alive and ok. Trust me, things will fall in place for you one day, but make sure you sue the **** out of his insurance company lol.
After all is said and done I just decided to stick with my 335i. I have been driving it everyday since the accident and I must admit I do have a serious love hate relationship with this car. It is so awesome and the on demand stock power and control is intoxicating. No major issues or minor 1s for that matter have popped up and I'm thankful for that. Since having the 2nd HPFP replaced and finding out that BMW extended the warranty to 10 years/120K miles on this, the turbo wastegate issue and the water pump I've decided to just try and fall in love with her. I realized I have never posted pics on this forum of her so here she is...

Decided to just stay with her because she has been super fun and pretty reliable. Gonna finally go down the modding road with her. Hoping to end up somewhere around 400whp/420tq after all bolt ons and tune are done.
I test drove the M3... it did not impress me. Maybe I built it up in my head too much. I just was not impressed plus it was not under warranty, parts are super rare and expensive and I would eventually have to drop like 4K to replace the SMG pump that seems to always fail.
Also test drove a G37 coupe, man that thing was boring. It felt too refined. It was way less sporty than the G35 stock for stock. Infiniti was definitely focused on the individuals looking for luxury over sport in that car.
Anyway, thanks to everyone that came along with me on this journey and wished me well. I truly appreciate it. The G community is an excellent group of people. I am on here a lot less as I've decided to refocus on the 335i but I still check in at least once a day for my favorite threads. Thank you again.

i would look into maybe just getting a used e92 m3. There starting to come down to the 40-45k range. Keep up updated on the fuel pump issue. I wanted to upgrade to a 335is, but i know the fuel pump issue still plagues the n54 and n55 engines.
