Premature Oil Change. Should I Change the Filter?
I'm changing my oil at 1600 miles because I have a few short track days on it.
Should I change the oil filter? Not sure if the oil filter is mostly there to filter out external particles, or if it's largerly intended to strain out bits of metal from the oil.
Thanks

Actually, Gary, I wasn't condoning recycling filters, I was just stating that technically, filters are good for two oil cycles and at 1600 miles, you don't HAVE to change it. But, obviously if its time you're worried about, a new filter is the way to go regardless.
