Crank but no start after engine swap

Hello everyone I'm pretty new here, ive come here today to ask what the heck may be the problem. So long story short I have a 2007 infiniti g35 coupe with the vq35de non rev up and I went to swap the old motor (snapped compression ring) to the new to me motor (JDM). The motor was put in by me, I connected the three harness plugs that connect the engine harness to the chassis harness, hooked up the new fuel rails and I turned the key just to see what would happen and I got nothing. Zero feedback from the ecu, I plugged in my scanner and nothing. I used my tester and I get power to I wanna say the bottom left pin on the obd-II??? Maybe top right...... Anywho, Does anyone have any info to help????? Anything please, I'm at a loss.

Did you use the existing starter or did the new motor come with one. I try not to use any accessory stuff from those JDM motors (coils, plugs, or any other sensor) simply because the stuff that was on the original motor was known working stuff.

If it's all the existing starting equipment I'd double check the power and ground.

Also check battery voltage.

And just to verify you did unplug the battery first before doing this swap correct?

Yes of course I did, first things I did was remove the hood as well as the battery. I'm using a new starter and the positive leads off the old engine. It ties the starter lead with the alternator lead into one cable that runs to the fuse at the positive battery terminal lead. I just made a grounding kit myself last night and still nothing. No communication from ecu to the OBD-II. Plugged in my scan tool and nothing. The grounding kit I made runs from the battery to both fenders, upper plenum, timing chain cover, block and transmission.

And none of that stuff was unplugged right, ECM, BCM, IPDM? My guess would be a burned fuse in the fusible link holder if you're not getting any power to the ECM.

Does your OBD2 reader have any indicator lights that shows it's even got power at the diagnostic harness?

The reader only powers on when 12 volts is applied. The only power I'm getting at the obd2 is either the bottom or top left pin I can't remember. I did use the engine harness off of the new engine of that helps. The ipdm and the bcm were untouched, the ecm was unplugged only to swap the harness over.

I would try swapping to the harness off the original engine.
Form what I've seen, it looks like they tend yank the motors out of the cars in Japan as quick as they can (CV axles cut, exhaust collectors chopped, etc.) Maybe there is something wrong with the JDM harness.
Not to mention, the motor came from a RHD car, so maybe there is something diff in the JDM harness somewhere.

That was next on my list of things to try. Would I have to pull the engine back out to do that?
