Highly unlikely. Next thing I would do is swap the cam sensor with the same sensor on the opposite bank if you haven't already. This would rule out the cam sensor.

If it's the outside ambient sensor located behind the grill you can pick one up from a local pick-n-pull, it's used on a LOT of nissan/infiniti vehicles throughout the 2000+ era.

Okay so I had the dealer replace that ambient sensor and my A/C is now working great, but my check engine light is still on, with the new vtc cover put on. I talked to their technician who worked on it at the Infiniti dealer and he said my car is off timing by 15 degrees. He believes I need a new cam sprocket. So now I’m looking at a timing job.

Yeah it's uncommon for the cam sprocket to break but yes it does happen, I'll dig up a picture so you can see what to look for, they almost always crack in the same fashion.

Try to get a used one, they are insanely expensive for new.

Ok here's a link for someone with a cracked sprocket on the HR engine, it's basically what happens on the DE engine as well, very uncommon but there have been a few threads over the years about it.

Looks like that guy had a misfire code and metal in his oil pan but I pulled my oil pan a few weeks ago and it had no metal in it at all. Also don’t have any misfires, so I’m not sure. So will I have to do timing if I do the cam sprocket?

No you can technically reuse the chain, however if you're paying shop labor rate to tear it all apart you should probably just get a timing chain/tensioner kit as well as a water pump since it's all going to be torn apart anyways.

If you do reuse the chain I would definitely replace the primary tensioner since it's the only item that does have a chronically short lifespan.

As for the metal, his sprocket REALLY kaboomed, he had literal chunks of metal that fell down into the pan. It's definitely possible to just fracture off that bolt hole and not leave a bunch of little chunks.
