My thots as a 05 coupe owner....

1-I'm 6 ft tall and 210 lbs and I don't have a problem at all. Not to be an *** but...how much do you weigh?

2-I have to agree that for the price...I wish the int looked a little more posh.

3-I like the look of the coupe but...looks are a very personal taste thing.

I guess what's odd is.....how you didn't figure all this out BEFORE you bought the car. Again, I am not raggin on you man but...this is a pretty damn expensive car. When you sold it or traded it in....you must have taken a pretty big hit (everyone does). I've never heard of anyone doing that based on these fairly cosmetic gripes. I think it's hard for other coupe owners to relate to ur situation when these are all things that are normally checked out before you buy the car..not after.

The G Coupe BLOWS AWAY the Lexus GS in the looks department.

I just don't get the complaints about the interior. Everytime someone rides with me (say a co-worker going to lunch with me who hasn't been in the car before) they compliment the interior. I have a willow interior which may look a little more luxurious and welcoming than graphite (not as claustrophobic). The only thing I wish my G had interior-wise is a power recline on the seat. I'm 6'3" and 200 lbs and the G is super-comfortable, I could drive it all day long.

No car satisifies everybody!

Don't 05s have power recline?

Sold the G!

Like the original thread starter, I also have a Lexus. The beautiful SC300 you see below. I am a coupe guy through and through. I really wanted to buy a G35. I spent hours driving and looking over one about a month ago. I loved the pep, it's more than enough for me. The exterior looks good except from a side rear angle. The butt has a funny crease. Still looks good though. The 05 interior is okay but nothing to write home about. The paint quality and gaps between panels really surprised me. The problems with the BOSE are a turn off. I'm 6-2 270, the room was a little tight but I can deal with it. Bottom line....I still like the car but I am now in no hurry to get one. Against my Platinumsc, there is no comparison. I will not trade or sell my Lex to get one, but I will get one.

I don't see how people get so many scratches on their interior. After 10k, I don't have a single scratch. Anyway, if driving dynamics don't equate to a large factor in buying your G, you may be disappointed. That is one of the biggest reasons I bought the car. The GS400 feels like a huge barge compared to the G. Of course they are in two completely different classes but you can't really go from the GS to the G35 and expect the same level of comfort

Buy a Hyundai Accent, it has a world class interior, you won't feel cheap at all. I think that is your car

Reggie my man, I'm sorry to tell you but that lexus SC ain't beautiful. If you put a G35 coupe next to it and had a crowd of 20 people looking towards them I bet all 40 eyes (2 eyes a person remember) would be staring at the G not the 5 year old SC you have. Plus the shape of it is not uniform (front end way to long) and talk about bad angles that one has plenty of them.

I think everyone is entitled to their opinion. With that said, Lexus makes some nice cars but the GS in particular is both outdated (peep the new GS) and more of a older person's car. Sounds like our friend who sold the the G suffers from lack of good judgment by not test driving the car before buying it.

And by the way, if you did drive the car prior to buying it and..you still bought it? Well, you don't even want to know what I think about that!

Here's where that "beauty in the eye of the beholder" thing comes in. I think the sc is one of the most beautiful cars ever created. That's probably becuase I like long sloping hoods, short rear deck and sleek bodies. Only car that looks better is the Ferrari 557....same basic style though. I have parked my car next to a G35 several times. SC looks better. I've asked many men and women. They all say mine looks better. More than that they think I'm crazy to want the G35 over my car. I tell them I'm keeping the Lex and they think I'm more crazy. Sounds like you're not too objective. You see...I can point out the negatives of my car....I know it's not perfect...I can be objective. For my tastes, this is the right car for me. I still plan on getting a G35. It's just not a priority because I didn't feel that thing you get in your chest when you finally get to touch the car you thought you wanted. The only high I kept was over the pep. I hit the gas and it went. It's a coupe and there aren't many other choices. The G35 wins by default.

Yes, the '05s have power recline, but I'm not going to trade in my Caribbean Blue and Brembos for it! Maybe I'll do a seat swap sometime!

definitely, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. for one, i think the old lexus sc's were nice. but i wouldn't even compare it to the g35. it's like comparing a '83 supra to the 350z....totally different era/decade. for me, hands down, i think the g35 coupe is nicer looking than the old sc's.

as far as the original poster, it's all a matter of opinion....however, with his opinion, i truly question. who buys a nice car and gets rid of it after only two months because they're not "impressed"? he should have done his homework before buying the car and made sure he liked the car. it's not like he pre-ordered the car before it even came out in late 2002. and with the gs400, i wouldn't drive that car (or most lexus models) even if someone gave me the car for free. talk about BORING!!! but whatever the case, to each their own.

Man! I try to get out and you pull me back in!!! haha!

Ok everybody! For those of you who don't quite understand(little brains) why I sold my car so quickly! Let me put it in different terms. And yes, its in the following order..

1. You meet a very attractive woman at a lounge.
2. You take her back to your place.
2. You take her down immediately (hopefully you all know what this means).
3. You begin to develop a mild relationship.
4. After time passes, you start to lose an interest in her.
5. Still very attractive, but you don't have that same feeling when you first met her.
6. And lastly, you tell her your interest in her has diminished.
7. She gets the hell out of your place.(no bill of sale).

The moral of the story? You move on the next gorgeous woman, and start from scratch.

How's that for an analogy??
